Carex is partnering with a leading organization in the Madison, WI area to hire an experienced Business Analyst / Technical Analyst for a 6-month contract. This role requires a hybrid blend of business analysis, systems analysis, and technical problem-solving. The ideal consultant will bring strong partner management skills, experience working with third-party vendors, and the ability to assess and translate business needs into actionable technical requirements.
This position is onsite or hybrid within 50 miles of Madison, WI.
Summary
The Business Analyst / Technical Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners to evaluate needs, define requirements, assess vendor solutions, and support technology initiatives. This is a hands-on analysis role that requires both strong business acumen and the ability to dive into systems, data, and technical workflows.
What You’ll Do

Partner with business and technical teams to gather, document, and validate business requirements, functional specifications, and technical needs.

Conduct vendor and partner assessments to determine solution fit, technical capabilities, risks, and alignment with business goals.

Translate business problems into clear, actionable technical requirements and workflows.

Analyze systems, data, and integrations to support decision-making and solution design.

Facilitate meetings, workshops, and discovery sessions with internal and external stakeholders.

Support project planning activities, including scope definition, requirements traceability, and impact assessments.

Collaborate with engineering, architecture, QA, and business teams to ensure requirements are understood and delivered accurately.

Develop and maintain documentation such as process flows, use cases, requirements, data mappings, and interface specifications.

Assist in evaluating vendor proposals, reviewing technical documentation, and coordinating validation or proof-of-concept activities.

Provide clear and consistent communication to stakeholders, ensuring shared understanding of project status, risks, and decisions.
What You’ll Bring

5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, Systems Analyst, or hybrid analysis role.

Strong ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.

Experience conducting vendor or partner assessments and managing external relationships.

Solid understanding of system workflows, integrations, and data analysis concepts.

Proven ability to facilitate working sessions, collect detailed requirements, and manage stakeholder expectations.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience working in structured project environments (Agile, hybrid, or Waterfall).

Ability to work onsite or hybrid within 50 miles of Madison, WI.
