Carex is working with a client partner that is seeking a collaborative, innovative and dynamic Enterprise Data Architect. This position is a practitioner of data architecture who assesses current-state and develops future-state data strategies and initiatives to ensure alignment with business and technical strategies. The incumbent works collaboratively with other architecture roles on the creation of a cohesive enterprise architecture approach.
What you’ll do:
- Works across technology and business teams to provide data architectural direction and oversite to create a holistic view of the data processes and data assets in alignment with other architecture strategies.
- Understands common data architecture frameworks and models in order to create standards for how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different data entities and technology systems.
- Develops data architecture strategies based on a situational awareness of various business scenarios and motivations.
- Develops and implements models of data that enable the implementation of intended business architecture, creates diagrams showing key data entities, and creates an inventory of the data needed to implement the architecture vision.
- Assess the benefits and the risks of data by using tools such as business capability model to create a data-centric view to visualize what information matters most to the organization base on the business strategy.
- Understands metamodels, taxonomies and ontologies, as well as the challenges of applying structured techniques (data modelling) to less-structured sources.
- Ensures that data flow is consistent, traceable, and meets organizational needs.
- Works closely with other architecture disciplines to create an enterprise approach for solving short term and long-term strategic initiatives. Uses and improves architectural assets.
- Stays knowledgeable about current and emerging technologies, and understands how and when to apply them to business needs.
- Plans for future capacity, storage and feature requirements.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, , or in a related field required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in data management, data modelling and data analysis. Experience in project leadership preferred.
- Advanced system integration experience, including interface design, and familiarity with web-oriented architecture techniques.
- Advanced with data concepts such as MDM, BI, and data warehouse design and implementation.
- Advanced data modeling, design and classification expertise at the enterprise level.
- Advanced understanding of predictive modeling and machine learning.
- Proven track record of remaining unbiased toward specific technologies.
- Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. Strong collaborator, influencer with the ability to engage with multiple technical and business stakeholders and leaders.
- Experience with innovation and ideation methods such as design thinking.
- Strong problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license.

- Participates in field research in pursuit of new solutions. Identifies, screens and evaluates new solution opportunities to address unmet (internal and external) client needs.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in math, finance, computer science, business management, management information systems, information systems or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
- 7+ years of experience with defining and leading business strategies and a broad range of exposure to technology solutions, including the development and execution of strategic initiatives and projects. Experience working in a financial services environment is desired.
