We're looking for a passionate Cytotechnologist that wants to play a key role in helping women achieve the healthcare they need. This role is a contract opportunity that is open to ASCP(CT) certified individuals, either local or travelers, looking to make a difference. The position hours are 1st Shift, Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm (with flexibility if needed).
What You'll Do:
The Clinical Cytotechnologist screens and evaluates any gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens sent to the laboratory for the determination of possible malignant or related abnormal conditions. The Cytotechnologist role will include aspects such as:
- Screening of all liquid-based cytology, both manual and imaged, as well as conventional slides.
- Perform microscopic evaluation of cytological specimens following laboratory procedures and workload policies.
- Ensure proper documentation of workload recording, including screening and non-screening activities as required by CLIA and laboratory guidelines.
- Maintain absolute integrity in the accurate performance and reporting of results.
- Meet slide screening requirements as per standard operating procedure.
- Finalize testing results into the computer in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide backup for cytology processing and other tasks as needed.
- Comply with all safety, infection control, and HIPAA policies.
- Provide occasional assistance at local hospitals on ultrasound-guided FNA procedures.
What You'll Bring:
- BS from an accredited college/university.
- Successful completion of an accredited Cytology program.
- ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification is required.
- Prior experience working in Cytology is preferred.
- ThinPrep Certification is a plus.
- Candidates will need to pass slide screening requirements and annual CAP proficiency test.
Candidate will also need to have the following in order to be successful in the role:
- Demonstrated understanding of Cyto Preparation techniques.
- Some familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS).
- Ability to work independently or with others within the hospital setting.
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail.

We're looking for a passionate Pathologists' Assistant / Histotechnician that wants to play a key role in providing patients with the highest quality medical laboratory services. You'll have an opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art, CAP-certified Pathology Lab learning best practices and standards set by an industry leader. This role is a contract opportunity with the position hours being 3rd Shift, Monday – Friday from 8:30pm – 5am.
What You'll Do:
The Pathologists' Assistant / Histotechnician V processes tissue and specimens in preparation for microscopic exam, and performs technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides of surgical specimens. The Pathologists' Assistant role will include aspects such as:
- Perform various immunohistochemical tests on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
- Process mounted sections through routine and special staining procedures.
- Properly orient and embed surgical tissue specimens.
- Prepare the stains and reagents needed for special procedures.
- Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
- Provide accurate gross description on tissue samples.
- Assist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results.
- Operate and maintain manual and automated laboratory instruments.
- Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
What You'll Bring:
- AS or BS with formal training in Histology from an accredited college/university.
- At least 1+ years of Histotechnician / Histology experience.
- ASCP Histology Certification or other relevant Histology certifications preferred; Pathologists' Assistant certification ideal.
- Experience in both microtomy and embedding.
- Prior experience and skills in grossing, processing, cutting, and routine and special staining techniques ideal.
