We're looking for a passionate entry-level Clinical Lab Tech to join the largest health care diagnostic company in the world as an important part of the 3rd shift team. This role is a 6 month contract that provides exceptional experience and an opportunity to learn with a well-known and admired company! The position hours are Monday – Friday from 10:00pm – 6:30am.

What You'll Do:

The Clinical Lab Tech performs routine medical laboratory tests essential for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. The Lab Tech role will include aspects such as:

  • Obtain specimens, cultivating, isolating and identifying microorganisms for analysis.
  • Examine stained cells to locate abnormalities.
  • Consult with a pathologist to determine a final diagnosis when abnormal cells are found.
  • Set up, adjust and maintain medical laboratory equipment.
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents and controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. 
  • Assist with processing of specimens as needed.

What You'll Bring:

  • BS in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry or similar (MLT MT).
  • Willingness to learn, or up to 2 years of experience.
  • Ability to analyze data and accurately document and record results.
  • Basic knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries and diseases.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
