They are seeking a Data Architecture Consultant to join their team in a permanent, remote capacity.

About You

You're a passionate and intellectually curious individual who takes ownership of their work product and is unafraid to take initiative when solving problems with unclear answers. You have an excellent grasp of a variety of programming languages and tools and have direct technical experience solving technical problems. You have high standards for your work, are ambitious, and believe in the power of data to provide material insights. You take a principles-first approach – always driving to understand the “why” before the “how” and “what”. You are comfortable working autonomously but have a collaborative mindset and seek mentorship.

As a Data Architecture Consultant, you will provide expertise and project support to healthcare and social service clients, design and develop high-impact data solutions, and provide analysis and recommendations to help clients move forward. For immediate project needs, you will support product development of a large-scale state child welfare system, including designing the data domains for the system and ensuring alignment between business specifications and data artifacts.

Additional workstreams include identifying net new reports and metrics to provide insight to state and county leadership.

The right candidate for this position will also have experience analyzing business processes and modeling data with attention to detail. Ideally, our partner’s new teammate would have experience with data modeling, UML modeling (required), developing report specifications, and developing proficient metrics and performance indicators.

What you’ll do:

Interviewing clients and subject matter experts to understand and clarify business requirements

Supporting development and revision of business process models, flow charts, UML class diagrams, and conceptual  data models

Explaining UML models to non-technical users and pointing out areas where business requirements need to be clarified

Proactively resolving roadblocks in business requirements and data domain modeling processes

Performing quantitative or qualitative analysis and developing client deliverables

Supporting business development activities

Developing broad knowledge of related consulting methodologies and healthcare verticals through the delivery of consulting engagements and participation in formal and informal learning opportunities.

Providing summary of accomplishments and progress to leadership

Attending, supporting and presenting at client meetings while later synthesizing key learnings from said meetings for internal use

What you’ll bring:

A minimum of 3 years work experience in a related field

A minimum of 2 years work experience with client-facing project work where you are a direct point of contact with the client

A minimum of 2 years work experience developing UML models (or similar experience with high proficiency to learn UML modeling, such as previous experience in a data architect role software architecture design)

A university degree (B.S., B.A. or advanced degree) in an analytics, data-intensive, or quantitative field; additional coursework in healthcare or social-services preferred

Quantitative and technical experience: software development, data science, or advanced analytics 

Exceptional communication abilities, including written communication and experience giving presentations to clients, management, and C-suite audiences

Additional preferred skills and qualifications:

Child welfare expertise, or other healthcare, social services, or public sector domain expertise

Strong capability in managing priorities so that deadlines are met while retaining consistent, high quality outcomes

Ability to think creatively and create innovative solutions where needed

Knowledge of consulting methodologies, tools and techniques

Adaptability and an ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge

Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills and a desire to contribute to the team culture

An avid interest in the healthcare or public sector programs, especially child welfare and Medicaid

Adaptability and an ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge

Project management experience desired
