Embedded Software Engineer - Product / Electrical Engineer / Mechatronics

Are you an Embedded Software Engineer with an Electrical Engineering or similar degree and at least 1 year of experience looking to join a global leader in manufacturing? This could be the next step you're looking for!

This position is full-time, direct hire and based onsite in Menomonee Falls, WI.

What You'll Do:

The Embedded Software Engineer will work closely with the Product Engineering team and focus on the development and implementation of Machine Diagnostic Tools used within the company's world-renowned construction equipment.

You'll be able to apply your knowledge and skills to further develop processes in software development in order to increase quality and reduce required development loops.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conception and implementation of diagnostic functions and test applications across product lines.
  • Design of diagnostic concepts based on automotive standards and other common industry standards (J1939, UDS, ODX, OTX and JAVA).
  • Implementation, testing and documentation of the diagnostic functions in the diagnostic application.
  • Support other systems and interfaces based on proprietary communication and diagnostic protocols.
  • Coordinate with departments including R&D, IT, E&E, After Market and Production on requirements and other needs.
  • Lead and implement additional sub-projects that include both internal and external partners.

What You'll Bring:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or similar.
  • Strong background in software and system development, as well as requirements management.
  • Experience in common software development and administration systems, including Confluence, Jira and GIT.
  • Independent and structured way of working, as well as confidence and ability to work with other departments and teams.
  • Ideal, but not required, experience:
    • Initial exposure or more with automotive diagnostic standards and protocols.
    • Knowledge of data and bus systems.
    • Agile methodology.
