In partnership with one of our Global partners, Carex is seeking an IT Desktop Engineer. This critical role specializes in advanced IT consumer devices and serves as the primary IT contact for desktop solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and maintenance of these systems. Additionally, they will provide expert-level guidance on hardware and software engineering, contribute to IT policy development, ensure seamless technology integration, and devise solutions for complex IT challenges. This role will require someone who is able to go in office 5 days a week in Lake Forest, CA.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and engineer computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and other devices.
  • Lead large-scale deployment projects including application packaging and group policy administration.
  • Manage device provisioning and administration using JAMF Azure Intune, Azure AD, and Windows Autopilot.
  • Oversee strategic planning and maintenance of computer systems and networks.
  • Provide expert-level IT engineering guidance to project teams.
  • Resolve complex IT issues through proactive identification and solution engineering.
  • Ensure security controls and IT systems management adhere to industry best practices.
  • Document and transfer knowledge on best practices.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call duties and potential on-call rotation.
  • Travel up to 25% for strategic planning and support activities.

What You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in an IT engineering role.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate).
  • In-depth knowledge of computer systems, networks, and enterprise-level engineering.
  • Specific expertise in Microsoft applications and operating systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of networking technologies, especially layer 1 and 2.
  • Experience with enterprise applications, ITIL framework, and potentially ServiceNow.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A collaborative attitude and ability to work well within a team.
  • Openness to hybrid or remote work configurations, if considered.
