Their employee-focused management and flexible work environment creates a culture of energy and innovation where everyone makes a difference, and everyone benefits from success.  The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of the overall IT platform/infrastructure. This position will manage the overall IT environment as well as the relationship with our managed service provider.

What you’ll do:

  • Manages the activities and vendors responsible for multiple areas within information technology, including computer hardware, server software, networking, computer support, SAML, data security, systems integrations, etc.
  • Coordinates IT activities and needs with managed service provider.
  • Ensures the stability, integrity, and operation of all systems, and oversee the monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing of all network software, hardware, and operating systems.
  • Monitors the organization's operational requirements, research strategies and technology solutions, and build the most cost-effective and efficient system to achieve those goals.
  • Oversees security solutions and controls, including firewalls, antivirus, intrusion protection systems, disaster recovery, and back-up procedures.
  • Leads the development of policies and procedures for computer systems operations and development.
  • Assists with planning for build out of new space for growth and expansion as necessary.
  • Negotiates contracts, and manages vendor relationships for IT related items such as internet, security, telecommunications, etc.
  • Provides support and training for end users regarding hardware, software, internet, VPN, information security, etc. in collaboration with vendors.
  • Manages IT security training system and communications.
  • Participates in contract discussions, compliance and review as needed.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, or other related field.
  • A minimum of five (5+) years of information technology related experience, including at least two years managing IT operations. Previous experience in a biotech, health sciences, or related industry is preferred.
  • Proficient in management of both Mac and PC operating systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of information technology and systems, and management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and management of security threats.
  • Familiarity with NIST framework is preferred.
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
