Carex’s client partner is unlocking the future of virtual care! Their mission is to increase access to convenient and cost-effective care on a single platform connected to our nation’s health systems. They are growing their team and seeking an Epic HIM Application Analyst to join in a direct-hire, full-time fashion.
The HIM Application Analysts are the owners of the application. Alongside fellow analysts, they coordinate
build tasks, testing efforts, and address issues that arise during the project for their application areas. They
are very knowledgeable about the application and our partner’s policies, procedures, and business operations.
They have technical and soft skills to navigate many situations and guide projects and maintenance successfully.
What you’ll do:
Project Build and Implementations
- Works closely with project stakeholders, leadership, technical and product teams, external vendors, and customer success to coordinate activities
- Guides workflow design, build and testing the system, and analyzes other technical issues associated with Epic software
- Identifies and implements requested changes to the system
- Serves as a liaison between end users’ workflow needs and Epic implementation staff
- Maintains regular communication with Epic representatives, including participating in weekly team meetings
- Works with Epic representatives, our partner’s internal teams, and end users to ensure the system meets business needs in regards to the project deliverables and timelines
- Develops an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for workflows by participating in scope meetings and other integrated sessions
- Assists the training team to produce training materials and works with end users
- Reviews the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership
- Attends project meetings to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, and upcoming milestones
System Maintenance
- Acts as the primary support contact for the application’s end-users
- Identifies issues that arise in their application area as well as issues that impact other application teams, and works to resolve them
- Manages incidents and requests reported from end-users and operations and works to resolve them
- Participates in Epic system upgrades, including Nova Note review, system build, testing, and go live support
- Participates in the on-call rotation for high and critical issues reported after hours
Key competencies and Experience
- HIM Deficiency Tracking, HIM Release of Information, and/or HIM Hospital Coding certifications, in good standing, required
- Certifications in Identity and Chart Tracking a plus
- Experience working with Identity and patient duplicate configuration
- 3-5 years experience with Epic as an analyst, or similar role
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability with respect to changing end-user business needs
- Ability and willingness to see things in an open-minded way and examine an idea, concept, or issue from as many angles as possible
- Ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner
- Strong organizational skills and the ability and willingness to recognize assignments or tasks that need to be completed
- The ability and willingness to learn new software and systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
