Carex is partnering with a Fintech industry partner to hire a Head of Acquisition Marketing. This executive leader will own and scale the customer acquisition strategy with a primary focus on driving profitable growth through customer acquisition. This is a hands-on builder role for a data-driven marketing leader who thrives in developing and optimizing coordinated, multi-channel acquisition programs while balancing aggressive growth with disciplined investment.

The Head of Acquisition Marketing will lead acquisition and brand marketing efforts, with an immediate emphasis on accelerating customer acquisition while building a foundation for long-term brand growth. This role partners closely with leaders across Finance, Credit & Risk, Analytics, Technology, Operations, and Lifecycle Marketing to maximize customer acquisition performance, optimize marketing investments, and support sustainable business growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the end-to-end acquisition marketing strategy, driving scalable and profitable customer growth.
  • Develop and optimize multi-channel acquisition programs across Direct Mail, Paid Digital, Lead Generation, Affiliate Marketing, Email Marketing, Content Marketing, and Brand Marketing.
  • Optimize customer acquisition costs (CAC), channel mix, and unit economics while reducing reliance on any single acquisition source.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, customer behavior, and emerging channels to identify growth opportunities and competitive advantages.
  • Own marketing forecasting, budget management, performance reporting, and investment pacing.
  • Partner with Finance to deliver accurate forecasts, establish planning processes, and build post-campaign reporting frameworks.
  • Foster a data-driven test-and-learn culture through experimentation, performance analysis, and continuous optimization.
  • Translate complex performance data and strategic recommendations into clear insights for executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Lead product marketing, brand positioning, messaging, competitive positioning, and customer value proposition development.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in marketing technology, attribution, AI applications, customer data platforms, marketing automation, and evolving MarTech capabilities.
  • Partner with Strategy and Technology teams to continuously improve marketing systems and acquisition capabilities.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing organization while effectively leveraging internal talent, agency partners, and AI-enabled tools.
  • Drive accountability, establish clear priorities, and lead initiatives from strategy through execution while measuring business impact.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in customer acquisition and growth marketing.
  • 5+ years of experience leading high-performing marketing organizations.
  • Experience managing large marketing budgets directly tied to revenue growth and business performance.
  • Demonstrated success developing and scaling acquisition strategies within consumer lending, financial services, credit products, or similarly acquisition-focused industries.
  • Deep expertise across Affiliate Marketing, Paid Digital, Lead Generation, Direct Mail, Email Marketing, and performance marketing.
  • Strong understanding of attribution models, marketing technology platforms, AI applications, and customer acquisition measurement.
  • Proven knowledge of lending economics, unit economics, and customer acquisition performance metrics.
  • Highly analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data, navigate ambiguity, and make informed business decisions.
  • Experience building a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, and performance optimization.
  • Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated success recruiting, developing, and retaining top marketing talent.
  • Builder mentality with a hands-on leadership approach and a track record of driving initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Preferred experience leading marketing technology transformations involving Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), attribution platforms, lead routing, marketing automation, and broader MarTech modernization.
