Carex is partnering with a Fintech industry partner to hire a Senior Manager, Data Strategy & Analytics to serve as a strategic analytics partner across the organization. This high-impact role will translate complex data into actionable insights that drive decision-making across Credit, Operations, Marketing, Product, Finance, Risk, and Compliance.
This individual will work with large datasets in a modern cloud-based environment, develop scalable analytics solutions, build dashboards and reporting, and uncover trends that improve risk management and business performance. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration, requiring the ability to communicate sophisticated analyses clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The Senior Manager will also help advance the analytics ecosystem by strengthening source-of-truth data assets, improving data workflows, expanding automation, and identifying opportunities to leverage AI and modern analytics technologies for more efficient and scalable decision-making.
What You'll Do
- Write efficient, well-documented SQL in Snowflake to extract, transform, analyze, and validate large datasets.
- Develop and automate analytical workflows using Python and/or R, with code maintained through GitHub.
- Design, build, and maintain Tableau dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into key business metrics across Credit, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and other functions.
- Conduct ad hoc and strategic analyses, translating findings into clear recommendations for business and executive stakeholders.
- Partner with Data Engineering to build and refine scalable data workflows in Databricks that support analytics and reporting needs.
- Monitor data quality, proactively identifying anomalies, inconsistencies, and issues affecting critical business metrics.
- Develop and document analytical methodologies while continuously identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
- Support Collections and Loan Fulfillment with new data build-outs and reporting capabilities.
- Develop and maintain operational reporting ranging from agent-level performance metrics to executive-level reporting.
- Partner with operational leaders to ensure reporting evolves alongside changing business requirements, definitions, and strategies.
- Ensure data pipelines supporting operational reporting remain reliable and scalable as new metrics and reporting requirements emerge.
- Use analytics to identify optimization opportunities within Collections, including channel mix, contact timing, treatment paths, and related strategies.
- Support state and partner audits associated with licensing, agreements, and compliance requirements.
- Design automated solutions for repetitive audit-related requests, processes, and workflows.
- Maintain documentation and appropriate data trails to support audit and compliance readiness.
- Reduce manual effort and turnaround time associated with recurring compliance and audit requests through automation and improved tooling.
- Build and maintain source-of-truth data objects within the Analytics layer to support functions including Marketing, Operations, Risk, and Pricing.
- Simplify data flows and production processes used to create and maintain core analytical data objects.
- Evaluate technical requirements and select the appropriate technology across Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, and other analytics tools.
- Migrate Snowflake jobs into a version-controlled GitHub repository to improve maintainability, governance, and collaboration.
- Drive adoption of AI capabilities within Snowflake, including Cortex Analyst and semantic views.
- Build semantic layers on core data objects to support natural-language querying and scalable self-service analytics.
- Identify emerging analytical needs and proactively recommend improved approaches, tools, and methodologies.
What You'll Bring
- 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, preferably within financial services or FinTech.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience querying cloud-based data warehouses such as Snowflake.
- Strong experience with Tableau or comparable data visualization platforms, including designing dashboards for business users and executive stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of Python and/or R for data manipulation, analysis, and workflow automation.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Spark, or comparable distributed computing platforms.
- Experience using Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
- Demonstrated ability to transform complex datasets and analyses into meaningful business insights and actionable recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical judgment, intellectual curiosity, and attention to accuracy and precision.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business functions while managing shifting priorities and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with consumer lending, credit risk modeling, personal lending, or related financial services environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with dbt and modern analytics engineering practices is a plus.
- Exposure to machine learning concepts and predictive modeling techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of financial services regulatory requirements, including fair lending and FCRA considerations, is a plus.
- Experience presenting analytical findings and strategic recommendations to executive leadership is a plus.
- Interest in leveraging AI and generative AI technologies to enhance analytics workflows, automate processes, and accelerate insight generation is a plus.
