Carex is partnering with a growing AI engagement platform startup to find an Implementation Lead who will own client implementations from discovery through delivery. This is a highly visible, client-facing role for someone who can bring structure to ambiguity, understand customer workflows, and translate business needs into functional solutions. The ideal candidate has experience implementing AI solutions and has knowledge of cloud solutions.
This is not a traditional project management role. The right person will be comfortable getting into the details, navigating challenging client conversations, and working across clients, Product, and Development. They should be technically savvy, comfortable learning complex platforms and integrations, and energized by figuring out how the product fits into each customer environment.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an early-stage company, wants direct exposure to clients and leadership, and enjoys wearing multiple hats. Healthcare represents a significant portion of the current client base, with expansion into additional industries.
While the company operates remotely, this role is intended for someone based in the NYC area, for occasional in person collaboration.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary client-facing lead throughout the implementation lifecycle, building trusted relationships with stakeholders and keeping projects moving forward.
- Own project communication, status updates, timelines, dependencies, risks, and overall coordination across internal and external teams.
- Lead discovery sessions and implementation workshops to understand client goals, operational processes, requirements, and pain points.
- Translate business and functional requirements into clear workflows and help determine how the platform should fit within the client’s existing environment.
- Identify gaps, risks, and implementation challenges early and drive solutions with the appropriate internal and client stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Product, Development, Support, leadership, and Go-to-Market teams to ensure client needs are understood and appropriately addressed.
- Navigate difficult or ambiguous client situations with confidence, bringing recommendations and a clear path forward rather than waiting for direction.
- Collaborate with technical team members throughout implementation and maintain a working understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Help clients successfully adopt the platform by ensuring the solution works within their day-to-day operational processes.
- Contribute beyond project delivery when needed, including supporting product development, process improvement, and GTM initiatives as the company grows.
What You’ll Bring
- 3–5+ years of experience in implementation, project management, consulting, professional services, or a similar client-facing role.
- Experience implementing AI solutions and knowledge of cloud solutions.
- Strong experience managing external stakeholders and owning client relationships throughout complex projects.
- Ability to independently lead projects with limited oversight and create structure in an evolving environment.
- Experience gathering requirements, understanding business processes, and translating those needs into functional workflows.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with a bias toward action.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to lead challenging stakeholder conversations.
- Ability to communicate effectively across business users, executives, Product teams, and technical stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle and experience collaborating with development or technical teams.
- Familiarity with CRM, ERP, EMR/EHR, or other complex enterprise software environments is highly valuable.
- Experience in healthcare technology is especially relevant given the company’s current client base, along with a working understanding of privacy, security, compliance, and HIPAA.
- Comfort wearing multiple hats and contributing wherever needed within a small, fast-moving organization.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and genuine interest in building processes rather than simply inheriting them.
