Business Systems Administrator III (Acumatica ERP)

Summary
Carex is partnering with a electronic manufacturing industry partner to hire a Business Systems Administrator III. This role serves as the senior functional and technical resource for the Acumatica ERP platform, supporting business-critical processes across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and operations. The Business Systems Administrator III is responsible for system administration, configuration, optimization, integrations, security, support, and continuous improvement initiatives that drive operational efficiency and data accuracy. This position partners closely with internal stakeholders, technology teams, and third-party vendors to ensure the ERP environment remains stable, scalable, and aligned with strategic business objectives.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary functional and technical expert for the Acumatica ERP platform.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system issues, incidents, and user requests across multiple business functions.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and vendor support teams to investigate and resolve application defects and enhancement opportunities.
  • Configure and customize Acumatica including screens, workflows, generic inquiries, dashboards, reports, business events, automation schedules, and security roles.
  • Support ongoing ERP implementation activities, enhancements, upgrades, and future phase rollouts.
  • Lead regression testing, user acceptance testing, and release validation efforts to ensure system stability and customization compatibility.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between Acumatica and connected business systems using REST APIs, OData services, database connections, and batch processes.
  • Monitor system health, integration performance, data quality, and scheduled processes, proactively resolving issues and driving root cause correction.
  • Manage application security, user provisioning, access controls, and security-related updates.
  • Support manufacturing operations within Acumatica, including bills of material (BOMs), production orders, material requirements planning (MRP), inventory transactions, costing, and shop floor data collection.
  • Research and evaluate new Acumatica functionality, software updates, and third-party solutions to improve business processes and system performance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, configuration records, integration diagrams, test plans, and support procedures.
  • Generate functional requirements, solution designs, testing documentation, and implementation plans for projects and enhancements.
  • Act as technical lead for medium to large projects, coordinating activities, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring successful project execution.
  • Provide end-user training, guidance, and support materials to promote system adoption and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain application roadmaps including upgrade planning, customization strategies, and integration enhancements.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business, or a related field; equivalent professional experience and relevant training will also be considered.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting business systems, enterprise applications, or ERP platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience administering, supporting, configuring, or implementing a modern ERP solution such as Acumatica, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Strong preference for hands-on Acumatica ERP experience, particularly within Manufacturing and/or Distribution environments.
  • Experience developing and supporting integrations using Acumatica REST APIs, OData services, web services, database integrations, or related technologies.
  • Knowledge of ERP business processes including manufacturing, supply chain, inventory management, finance, and operations.
  • Experience configuring application security, user roles, permissions, and access controls.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies including regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Experience supporting ERP upgrades, release management, and customization validation.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into effective system solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience creating technical documentation, process documentation, training materials, and support resources.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience leading projects, coordinating stakeholders, and mentoring junior team members.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and continuous process improvement.
