Carex is partnering with a biotech industry leader seeking an experienced SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Application Analyst to manage, secure, and operate SAP BTP services across enterprise landscapes. This role will focus on BTP account administration, security, connectivity, service enablement, and platform governance while supporting high availability, compliance, and scalability of SAP cloud solutions. The position is based in Madison, WI and requires consistent onsite work up to four days per week.
Summary
The SAP BTP Application Analyst will serve as a key support contact for application end-users and stakeholders, identifying and resolving application and cross-functional issues while driving platform improvements. This role will perform impact analysis, design and configure system changes, support testing, troubleshoot technical issues, and identify opportunities to improve platform performance and business processes. The role will work with modern SAP technologies, including RISE with SAP, HANA, Fiori, Joule, and SAP Business AI.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and administer SAP BTP global accounts, subaccounts, entitlements, services, and environments.
- Support Cloud Foundry and Kyma environments, service lifecycle management, and platform operations.
- Configure and maintain SAP BTP security capabilities, including IAS, IPS, role collections, OAuth, SAML, and corporate identity provider integrations.
- Configure SAP BTP connectivity and integration services, including Cloud Connector, Destination Service, and Integration Suite.
- Design, configure, test, and implement business systems solutions, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Identify and resolve application issues and issues affecting other application teams.
- Analyze technical issues, perform impact assessments, and develop practical solutions to complex problems.
- Monitor BTP services, manage quotas and costs, and support platform governance, compliance, stability, and performance.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, processes, procedures, and workflow documentation.
- Lead estimation activities for enhancement and support requests.
- Provide production support and troubleshoot issues submitted through issue tracking systems.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, project leadership, subject matter experts, and software vendor implementation teams to align technical solutions with business requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and business processes through technology enhancements.
- Participate in end-user training, documentation development, and stakeholder communications.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned applications and provide mentorship to peers.
- Delegate configuration and related activities to team members as appropriate.
- Act as a delegate for leadership during incident and problem resolution activities.
- Lead internal process design and documentation initiatives that support continuous improvement.
- Adapt to changing business needs, ambiguous situations, and new technologies.
- Support cross-functional initiatives in a complex matrix environment.
- Work nights and/or weekends as needed to support business and platform requirements.
- Travel approximately 5% of working time, including occasional overnight or weekend travel, and travel between local locations as needed.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years of experience developing or configuring technology solutions in an application analyst or project delivery role.
- 2+ years of hands-on SAP BTP administration experience, including global accounts, subaccounts, Cloud Foundry/Kyma environments, entitlements, and service lifecycle management.
- 1+ years of experience with SAP BTP security concepts, including IAS/IPS, role collections, OAuth, SAML, and corporate identity provider integration.
- 1+ years of experience configuring SAP BTP connectivity and integration services, including Cloud Connector, Destination Service, and Integration Suite.
- 1+ years of experience with BTP monitoring, operations, governance, quotas, cost management, naming conventions, compliance, and platform stability.
- Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA or ECC landscapes and cloud fundamentals, including IaaS/PaaS concepts, networking, certificates, and TLS.
- Experience applying industry best practices to technology solutions.
- Experience with business systems configuration in a life sciences, healthcare, or related environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and business judgment skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with project leadership, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders.
- Ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional and complex matrix environment.
- Ability to learn new software applications and adapt to changing technologies and business requirements.
- Strong computer skills, including internet navigation, email, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of assignments and complete work accurately, efficiently, and on time.
