Serving as the primary UX partner for assigned business areas, the Lead UX Designer leads experience strategy, research, optimization, and design execution while collaborating across Marketing, Product, Content, Creative, Analytics, SEO, Technology, Research, and Compliance. The role balances customer needs, business performance, accessibility, brand expression, technical feasibility, and responsible design practices to drive measurable outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Translate business and marketing objectives into customer experience strategies, design hypotheses, and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, audience behaviors, business priorities, market conditions, and competitive experiences to inform design direction.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer journeys from awareness and consideration through quote initiation, lead submission, purchase, or other meaningful actions.
  • Establish UX priorities that balance immediate business goals with long-term experience quality, accessibility, design system consistency, and sustainable digital growth.
  • Design experiences that reduce friction, improve clarity, strengthen customer confidence, and support informed decision-making.
  • Use qualitative research, customer feedback, behavioral insights, and performance data to identify opportunities and guide UX strategy and recommendations.
  • Partner with Analytics, Product, Marketing, and Technology teams to define success metrics, establish measurement approaches, and evaluate experience performance.
  • Develop and validate hypotheses through research, testing, experimentation, and iterative optimization.
  • Apply findings from usability studies, analytics, customer feedback, and experimentation to continuously improve customer experiences and business outcomes.
  • Communicate insights through journey maps, experience narratives, design recommendations, and prioritized optimization roadmaps.
  • Apply principles of information architecture, content hierarchy, trust-building, behavioral design, and ethical persuasion to improve customer understanding, engagement, and progression through key journeys.
  • Partner with Content, Marketing, and Creative teams to align messaging, visual hierarchy, and interaction design around shared customer and business objectives.
  • Ensure customer experiences remain transparent, accessible, and user-focused while supporting acquisition and conversion goals.
  • Serve as the primary UX point of contact for assigned sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Facilitate alignment among cross-functional partners by clearly communicating customer needs, design rationale, supporting evidence, expected outcomes, and tradeoffs.
  • Advocate for customer needs while balancing business objectives, compliance requirements, brand standards, technical constraints, and operational considerations.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to other designers while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement across the UX practice.

What You'll Bring

  • Seven to ten years of experience designing digital products, customer experiences, or commercial web experiences, including four or more years in a lead or senior UX role.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to connect customer needs, business objectives, evidence, design decisions, and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience designing customer-facing sales and marketing experiences such as product pages, quote journeys, acquisition funnels, campaign landing pages, lead-generation experiences, or digital commerce solutions.
  • Experience leveraging qualitative research, behavioral insights, analytics, and experimentation to inform UX strategy and design decisions.
  • Strong understanding of usability testing, customer research, information architecture, behavioral design, content hierarchy, accessibility, and conversion optimization principles.
