Carex is partnering with a biotech industry partner for an SAP FICO Application Analyst. This role will support business systems design, configuration, upgrades, improvements, and production support for SAP financial applications. The Application Analyst will serve as a key point of contact for end users, analyze business and technical requirements, implement system changes, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities to improve business processes through technology. This position is located in Madison, WI and requires consistent onsite work up to four days per week.
Summary
The SAP FICO Application Analyst will leverage a strong understanding of financial processes and SAP FI-CO functionality to support business objectives and deliver effective technology solutions. The role will work closely with application leadership, ERP technical teams, architects, business stakeholders, and software vendors to assess requirements, configure and test solutions, resolve application issues, and support ongoing system improvements.
Hands-on experience with OneStream is strongly preferred, along with knowledge of related SAP modules and business processes including MM, PP, and SD. The successful candidate will be customer-focused, adaptable, analytical, collaborative, and comfortable taking ownership in a complex, cross-functional environment.
What You’ll Do
- Design, configure, upgrade, and improve assigned business applications using established processes and procedures.
- Assess requested changes and perform impact analysis for assigned systems and platforms.
- Guide workflow design, configure and test system changes, and troubleshoot technical and application issues.
- Support SAP FI-CO functionality across financial processes, including FI-AA, AR, Revenue, Treasury, BCM, and EBS.
- Analyze business requirements and collaborate with stakeholders to implement effective system solutions.
- Partner with ERP technical teams and architects on configuration alignment, customizations, and solutions for functionality gaps.
- Identify and resolve issues within the application area, including issues affecting other application teams.
- Provide end-user production support, troubleshoot problems and questions, and communicate status updates.
- Develop, maintain, and organize technical and system documentation.
- Develop new processes and procedures in partnership with business teams and leadership.
- Liaise with business stakeholders and software vendor implementation teams to ensure system changes align with business needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and business processes through technology enhancements.
- Develop, document, and participate in end-user training.
- Contribute to peer design and code reviews.
- Review project and issue status with project leadership.
- Demonstrate flexibility in response to changing business needs and priorities.

What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- 3+ years of experience developing or configuring technology solutions in an application analyst or project delivery role.
- Strong understanding of industry best practices.
- Strong computer skills, including internet navigation and email usage.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Solid understanding of Plan-to-Report processes and related SAP functionality.
- Experience with SAP FI-CO, including configuration and integration points with SD, PP, and MM.
- Experience supporting SAP end users following go-live.
- Experience with at least one SAP implementation supporting FI-CO.
- Experience with SAP HANA 2023 and Fiori.
- Accounting or FP&A experience.
- Hands-on OneStream implementation or ongoing support experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with finance and reporting tools such as SAP Analytics Cloud is a plus.
- Experience configuring business systems software within a life sciences, healthcare, or related environment is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing business requirements.
