Carex is partnering with a Consumer Products industry partner to hire a Contract Business Analyst to support an ECC Decommissioning Program. This full-time contract role will focus on discovery, requirements gathering, and application and system assessments, helping bring structure and clarity to decommissioning decisions.

This is a hands-on delivery role requiring strong business analysis, stakeholder facilitation, documentation, and follow-through skills. The Business Analyst will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand system usage and dependencies, document requirements, coordinate actions and approvals, and develop practical recommendations for application and system disposition.

The initial contract term is 4-6 months.  A hybrid work arrangement is preferred (Madison, WI), with remote candidates also considered. Experience with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, or enterprise applications is valued.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and facilitate discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, assessment meetings, and decision-focused working sessions with business owners, IT owners, subject matter experts, application teams, infrastructure teams, and program leadership.

  • Gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements, system usage, dependencies, data needs, reporting requirements, retention obligations, historical-access expectations, and operational considerations.

  • Support application and system assessments by documenting current-state environments, ownership, dependencies, disposition options, retirement readiness, and required next steps.

  • Develop practical recommendations for system and application disposition, including retirement, retention, archival, migration, remediation, or deferral.

  • Document supporting rationale, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and outstanding considerations associated with disposition recommendations.

  • Translate complex business and technical discussions into clear requirements, actions, recommendations, decisions, approvals, and signoffs.

  • Manage follow-ups and drive open questions, action items, decisions, approvals, and formal business and IT signoffs through completion.

  • Prepare and maintain application and system assessment packages, requirements documentation, meeting notes, process flows, decision logs, approval evidence, test scenarios, validation evidence, and status updates.

  • Coordinate with business and technical teams on data retention, archival, historical access, reporting, interfaces, batch jobs, infrastructure, testing, and compliance considerations.

  • Build and maintain stakeholder and dependency maps to support assessment and decommissioning activities.

  • Identify gaps, risks, conflicting information, and unresolved dependencies and present clear options with well-supported recommendations to program leadership.

  • Maintain action, decision, risk, and issue tracking across multiple concurrent assessments.

  • Provide concise, decision-ready updates and executive-level escalation materials.

  • Contribute to program governance, RAID management, and decommissioning-readiness tracking.

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated Business Analyst experience supporting enterprise programs, application lifecycle initiatives, system retirement, transformation efforts, or similarly complex cross-functional programs.

  • Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with business users, technical teams, managers, and senior leaders.

  • Experience facilitating meetings, workshops, discovery sessions, and structured stakeholder conversations across organizational levels.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple assessments and open actions concurrently.

  • Ability to synthesize incomplete or conflicting information, identify gaps, and develop practical, well-supported recommendations.

  • Ability to work independently, establish relationships quickly, and operate effectively in a fast-paced program environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.

  • Experience with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, or SAP-connected applications and business processes is preferred.

  • Experience with application decommissioning, data retention, data archival, historical access, infrastructure retirement, or system migration is preferred.

  • Familiarity with application inventories, interfaces, batch jobs, reporting, testing, change management, and approval governance is preferred.

  • Experience collaborating across business functions, technology teams, vendors, and time zones within a global organization is preferred.
