Carex is partnering with a Medtech SaaS startup partner to identify a Downstream Marketing Consultant for a 4-month contract engagement, with the potential for extension or long-term opportunity. Ideally based in Madison, WI, this role is also open to remote candidates, particularly those with strong healthtech or medtech marketing experience. This individual will serve as a critical partner to a growing commercial organization, developing competitive positioning, sales enablement content, product messaging, and go-to-market materials that help drive adoption and revenue growth. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, thrives in evolving environments, and has a proven ability to transform complex healthcare technology concepts into compelling customer-facing messaging.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute downstream marketing initiatives that support commercial growth, product adoption, and revenue objectives.
  • Create competitive messaging, positioning, and battlecards that equip Account Executives to effectively differentiate products in the marketplace.
  • Develop concise sales messaging and value propositions that communicate the impact and benefits of product-generated reports and data-driven insights.
  • Build and enhance sales enablement materials, including pitch decks, presentations, collateral, and supporting resources used by the field sales organization.
  • Partner closely with Sales to identify customer needs, objections, competitive threats, and market opportunities, translating findings into actionable marketing assets.
  • Support go-to-market initiatives, product launches, product enhancements, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis within healthcare technology and medical device markets to inform commercial strategy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Clinical, Regulatory, R&D, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across the organization.
  • Help establish scalable marketing processes and resources that support a growing and evolving organization.
  • Track, analyze, and report on marketing and sales enablement effectiveness, using insights to continuously improve messaging and content performance.
  • Take ownership of projects from concept through execution, balancing strategic priorities with tactical deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Contribute to additional downstream marketing and commercial initiatives as business needs evolve.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of marketing experience preferred, with consideration given to exceptional candidates with approximately 5+ years of highly relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success in downstream marketing, product marketing, commercial marketing, or sales enablement roles within healthcare technology, medical technology, digital health, software, or related industries.
  • Proven ability to develop compelling product messaging, competitive positioning, and customer-facing content that drives commercial results.
  • Experience creating sales enablement tools, pitch decks, presentations, training materials, and competitive intelligence resources.
  • Strong understanding of go-to-market strategy development and execution.
  • Knowledge of healthcare markets, healthcare technology solutions, medical devices, diagnostics, or related clinical workflows strongly preferred.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and transform them into clear, persuasive messaging for customers, prospects, and sales teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills coupled with a hands-on, execution-focused mindset.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and perform effectively within a growing organization.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills with a reputation for professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Self-starter mentality with a proactive, results-oriented approach and a proven ability to independently drive projects to completion.
  • Experience with CRM systems, sales enablement platforms, marketing analytics tools, Google Workspace, and related technologies preferred.
