Carex is partnering with a Behavioral Health EHR startup partner to hire an Implementation Specialist. This role will lead end-to-end EHR implementations for behavioral health organizations ranging from growing provider groups to large enterprises with hundreds of users. This is a hands-on individual contributor position responsible for guiding customers from kickoff through go-live and stabilization, ensuring successful deployments, strong adoption, and rapid value realization. The role can be fully remote with periodic travel to customer sites but ideal candidates reside in the NYC area.
What You’ll Do
- Own multiple concurrent EHR implementations from contract signature through go-live and stabilization
- Serve as the primary project lead, managing timelines, milestones, risks, and stakeholder communications
- Configure customer environments including roles, permissions, security settings, forms, templates, workflows, and operational settings
- Translate clinical, operational, and billing workflows into scalable system configurations
- Lead implementation workshops with clinical, medical, operations, intake, scheduling, and revenue cycle teams
- Oversee data migration, system validation, user acceptance testing, and go-live readiness activities
- Train administrators, super users, and frontline staff on platform functionality and best practices
- Partner with product and engineering teams to identify gaps, drive solutions, and improve implementation processes
- Provide clear internal updates to ensure alignment across stakeholders throughout the implementation lifecycle
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years of hands-on EHR implementation experience required
- Proven experience implementing EHR, practice management, or other complex, workflow-driven healthcare systems
- Strong system configuration expertise, including building forms, workflows, permissions, templates, and user roles
- Experience supporting enterprise-level implementations (100+ users), ideally including large-scale deployments
- Demonstrated success managing multiple high-volume, concurrent implementations
- Experience leading end-to-end implementations, including training and go-live execution (not solely project management)
- Ability to map clinical and operational workflows into effective system design
- Comfort working in fast-paced, high-growth environments with autonomy and ownership
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to set expectations and balance competing priorities
- Behavioral health EHR experience preferred (e.g., Netsmart, Kipu, Qualifacts, Wellsky, Valant, Lightning Step, Sunwave)
- Experience with legacy system migrations, interoperability, EDI, claims, or payer workflows is a plus
- Highly motivated, low-ego, adaptable, and willing to take on a wide range of responsibilities with a “build as you go” mindset
