  • Job #6349

Carex is partnering with a Behavioral Health EHR startup to hire an Implementation Specialist to lead EHR implementations for behavioral health organizations ranging from growing provider groups to enterprise organizations with hundreds of users.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who wants both customer ownership and deep involvement in the actual build. You will own implementations from kickoff through go-live, partnering directly with executive leadership, clinical teams, operations leaders, and revenue cycle teams. You’ll be responsible for understanding how customers operate, translating those workflows into system design, configuring their EHR environment, and driving the implementation through a successful launch.

We’re looking for someone early in their career who is hungry, highly motivated, and comfortable rolling up their sleeves. This could be a strong fit for someone coming from healthcare technology implementation or healthcare consulting who has worked directly in system configuration and workflow design and is ready for more ownership in a fast-growing startup.

This role is hybrid in New York City, with periodic travel to customer sites.

What You’ll Do

  • Own multiple concurrent EHR implementations from contract signature through go-live and stabilization
  • Serve as the primary project lead for customer implementations, managing timelines, milestones, risks, and stakeholder communication
  • Configure customer environments including roles, permissions, security settings, forms, templates, workflows, and operational settings
  • Translate customer clinical, operational, and billing workflows into scalable system configurations
  • Lead implementation workshops across clinical, medical, operations, intake, scheduling, and revenue cycle teams
  • Manage data migration, system validation, user acceptance testing, and go-live readiness activities
  • Train administrators, super users, and frontline staff on platform functionality and best practices
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to identify gaps, drive solutions, and improve implementation processes
  • Own internal communication and updates, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned throughout the implementation journey

What You’ll Bring

  • 2–5 years of experience in EHR implementation, healthcare technology implementation, healthcare consulting, or a similar client-facing role
  • Experience implementing EHR, practice management, healthcare operations, or other complex workflow-driven software platforms
  • Hands-on system configuration experience — not solely project management — including forms, workflows, permissions, templates, user roles, and operational settings
  • Experience gathering customer requirements and translating clinical or operational workflows into system design and configuration
  • Exposure to enterprise implementations or complex customer environments with multiple stakeholder groups
  • Comfort managing client expectations, defining roles and responsibilities, and balancing multiple priorities across concurrent accounts
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to get into the details to understand workflows, troubleshoot issues, and drive solutions
  • Highly motivated, adaptable, low-ego, and comfortable operating with significant ownership in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Behavioral health experience
  • Experience migrating customers from legacy EHR systems
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability, EDI, claims, eligibility, or payer workflows

Why This Role

  • Own high-impact implementations for some of the largest behavioral health organizations in the country
  • Work directly with company leadership on strategic customer deployments
  • Help shape the implementation function at one of the fastest-growing companies in behavioral health
  • Join a well-capitalized company at an early stage with significant opportunities for growth
  • Play a critical role in modernizing healthcare infrastructure with AI-native technology
