Carex is partnering with a Series A healthtech industry partner to hire a Behavioral Health Clinical SME – Nursing Operations Lead to support high-priority initiatives spanning implementation, customer support, customer success, clinical operations, and product development.

This fully remote role sits at the intersection of behavioral health clinical workflows and technology. The Nursing Operations Lead will work closely with behavioral health providers to implement and optimize an AI-powered platform, solve complex clinical and operational challenges, and ensure technology supports real-world care delivery. This individual will also serve as a key clinical subject matter expert, translating frontline needs into actionable product requirements and helping shape solutions that improve clinical workflows. The ideal candidate brings hands-on behavioral health experience across multiple levels of care, deep knowledge of medication administration workflows, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. Active licensure as an RN, LPN, NP, or PA is required. The position is remote with periodic travel to partner sites.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a behavioral health clinical subject matter expert across implementation, support, customer success, and product initiatives.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex clinical, workflow, and operational support issues.
  • Translate clinical workflows and frontline provider needs into clear product requirements, partnering cross-functionally with product and engineering teams.
  • Lead implementations for behavioral health providers across the continuum of care, including inpatient psychiatry, residential substance use disorder treatment, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), partial hospitalization programs (PHP), and outpatient settings.
  • Train clinical staff, nursing teams, and operational leaders on effective use of the platform within day-to-day workflows.
  • Evaluate nursing, medical intake, care coordination, medication administration, and documentation processes to identify opportunities for automation and workflow improvement using AI.
  • Apply expertise in Medication Administration Record (MAR) systems to support medication ordering, administration, documentation, and compliance workflows.
  • Conduct clinically focused product demonstrations and provide implementation support for new and existing customers.
  • Work directly with customer leadership teams to drive platform adoption, clinical and operational outcomes, and long-term retention.
  • Identify gaps between technology and real-world clinical practice and provide actionable recommendations to product and operational teams.
  • Navigate complex and ambiguous clinical challenges while developing practical, scalable solutions.
  • Operate effectively in a rapidly evolving, fast-paced startup environment where priorities may shift quickly.

What You’ll Bring

  • Active licensure as an RN, LPN, NP, or PA; candidates without one of these qualifying active licenses will not be considered.
  • Significant hands-on experience within behavioral health clinical environments.
  • Deep familiarity with MAR (Medication Administration Record) systems and medication administration workflows, including medication ordering, administration, documentation, and applicable compliance standards.
  • Direct experience across inpatient, residential, and outpatient levels of care, with a strong understanding of the distinct clinical and operational workflows within each setting.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health care delivery and the workflows of clinicians, nursing teams, and operational staff.
  • Ability to translate complex clinical processes and requirements into language that product, engineering, and operational teams can act on.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with clinical, product, engineering, implementation, customer success, or operations stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solutions-oriented approach to complex operational challenges.
  • Comfort operating independently in ambiguous situations and taking ownership of high-priority initiatives.
  • Strong communication, training, and relationship-building skills when working with clinicians, operators, and customer leadership.
  • Interest in moving beyond a traditional clinical role to help build technology that can improve and scale behavioral health care delivery.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel periodically to partner sites.
