Carex is partnering with a financial services industry partner to identify a Program Delivery Lead to oversee complex projects and programs that drive enterprise outcomes and strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for advancing the adoption, standardization, and maturity of appropriate delivery frameworks while ensuring alignment between project execution and organizational objectives. The Program Delivery Lead serves as a key partner to business and technology stakeholders, co-owning project strategy, delivery plans, and results while managing quality, risk, budget, governance, and resources across the project lifecycle.

Contract Length: 6 months
Location: Remote within the state of Wisconsin
Compensation rate: $60-94/hr
 

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with portfolio planning teams and senior program leaders to define project objectives and align initiatives with organizational strategies and priorities.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop foundational project artifacts, including charters and business cases.
  • Identify, engage, and manage key stakeholders while establishing clear alignment on outcomes and decision-making pathways.
  • Develop project roadmaps that define success measures, estimated costs and benefits, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks, roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes that align with enterprise standards.
  • Define and communicate project metrics and success criteria to stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards as well as applicable regulatory and privacy requirements.
  • Manage project scope, budget, risks, timelines, and change requests through structured change control processes.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while proactively managing issues and driving resolution through appropriate escalation channels.
  • Monitor project progress, dependencies, resource utilization, budgets, and delivery outcomes throughout execution.
  • Drive value acceleration by focusing delivery on minimum viable functionality and leveraging agile, project management, business process improvement, and change management methodologies.
  • Facilitate collaboration and alignment across project teams, business functions, leadership teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project status updates to leadership and stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, issues, and performance against objectives.
  • Forecast and manage resource needs across the project lifecycle.
  • Lead project closure activities, ensuring objectives are achieved and lessons learned are documented and retained.
  • Oversee transitions to operational teams for ongoing support and ownership of deliverables.
  • Partner with finance and governance teams to monitor budgets, assess financial viability, and track benefit realization against baseline assumptions.
  • Challenge assumptions and leverage data to identify risks, opportunities, and performance trends in support of enterprise priorities.
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, and effective execution.
  • Mediate conflicts and facilitate consensus among stakeholders in complex or politically sensitive environments.
  • Build strong, productive partnerships across business and shared services teams while navigating organizational priorities and stakeholder needs.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of recent experience leading projects, programs, teams, or transformation initiatives, including process improvements, technology implementations, or integration efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply complex business and technical concepts.
  • Experience successfully navigating highly matrixed organizations.
  • Proven ability to build trust, influence decision-makers, and negotiate effectively with sponsors and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong consensus-building skills and the ability to manage contentious or politically sensitive situations.
  • Experience leading projects and programs through the full lifecycle from initiation through closure and transition.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence audiences at all organizational levels.
  • Leadership capabilities that include coaching, mentoring, guiding teams, and driving accountability.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate customer needs, business performance metrics, and strategic objectives into actionable plans.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated history of delivering outcomes with minimal direction.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
