Carex is working with a financial services industry partner to hire a Project Manager – Consultant/Contractor to join a Project Management team and provide support for a core banking replacement program while also managing enterprise projects over the next approximately 18–24 months.

This role is intentionally split between program support and project management, with approximately 50% of the position focused on partnering closely with the D1 Program Manager and supporting the overall program. The remaining 50% will focus on leading small to medium-sized enterprise projects from planning through delivery.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of experience leading projects and is comfortable collaborating across both business and Technology teams. This opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys the administrative and organizational aspects of program management just as much as leading projects. A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed will be important to contributing to the success of the team and program.

Must be hybrid onsite in Madison, WI.

  • Develop and manage Organizational Change Management (OCM) plans in partnership with Project Sponsors.

  • Coordinate project resources based on skills, availability, project needs, and delivery expectations.

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including issue logs, decision logs, change records, schedules, key metrics, and status reports.

  • Partner with Project Sponsors to communicate benefit realization and project value to Executive and Leadership Teams.

  • Create and maintain appropriate business analysis deliverables based on project scope, complexity, and delivery methodology.

  • Facilitate the validation and prioritization of requirements with business and technical stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Project Sponsors, project teams, business units, service providers, and Technology teams to evaluate solutions and ensure alignment with business objectives.

  • Champion data-driven design thinking, innovation, process improvement, and effective prioritization techniques.

  • Help establish clear business process ownership and ongoing support models for project deliverables.

  • Guide project and technical teams in developing test plans that validate functional requirements and assess impacts to operations and supporting technical infrastructure.

  • Support the identification and development of test cases and coordinate stakeholders throughout the project testing process.

  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), facilitate test script development with business teams, and coordinate defect and bug resolution.

  • Proactively step in where needed to support the broader team, program, and successful delivery of enterprise initiatives.
