Carex is partnering with a Consumer Products industry partner to find an IT Project Manager for a large-scale enterprise technology transformation initiative focused on the decommissioning of SAP ECC, including related satellite applications and supporting infrastructure. This one-year contract opportunity, with a strong likelihood of extension, will play a critical role in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project execution, and ensuring successful delivery of complex IT initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep project management expertise, ERP implementation and decommissioning experience, strong stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record of delivering enterprise-wide technology projects on time and within budget.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and direct cross-functional teams through all phases of complex IT projects.
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain integrated project plans and timelines across multiple workstreams.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, tasks, and resource requirements in partnership with business and IT stakeholders.
- Align closely with business project owners to ensure scope, priorities, and objectives remain clearly defined.
- Manage IT resource planning, budget estimation, change control processes, and project governance activities.
- Facilitate project oversight meetings, daily scrum meetings, and stakeholder reviews to discuss status, risks, issues, testing, and implementation readiness.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to business leaders, program managers, and executive stakeholders.
- Partner with program managers and functional leaders to ensure projects achieve quality, budget, schedule, and business outcome objectives.
- Coordinate with resource managers and individual contributors to secure appropriate resources throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure adherence to established Program Management, SDLC, Procurement, and Production Change Control processes.
- Proactively identify project risks and issues and drive timely resolution strategies.
- Manage vendor relationships, including development of Statements of Work (SOWs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and vendor performance accountability.
- Monitor and manage project budgets while making fiscally responsible decisions.
- Coordinate IT testing activities, including requirements validation, test scenario development, and execution support.
- Lead defect tracking, prioritization, and resolution efforts in partnership with business and IT teams.
What You’ll Bring
- 8–10 years of recent project management experience, preferably in Waterfall environments.
- Experience leading ERP-focused projects, with SAP experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing enterprise-wide technology initiatives through the full project lifecycle, including Design, Build, Test, and Deploy phases.
- Experience facilitating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinating testing activities across business and technical teams.
- Strong experience developing executive-level reporting, dashboards, project communications, and status updates.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Experience with SAP ERP, ServiceNow, Microsoft Project, and SharePoint preferred.
- Strong ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels, including business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and executives.
- Experience managing project scope and driving formal scope change processes when necessary.
- Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced capabilities in spreadsheets, presentations, project planning tools, and project management systems.
- Strong understanding of project governance, SDLC methodologies, testing processes, and enterprise technology environments.
