Carex is partnering with a healthtech partner to hire an entrepreneurial, hands-on Technical Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and execution of an Ambulatory Clinical AI product. This role will focus on building context-aware, hyper-personalized intelligence embedded into outpatient clinical workflows, adapting to patient context, clinician roles, and critical care moments across the ambulatory journey — from primary care to specialty domains. This individual will own the product lifecycle from strategy and roadmap through execution, pilots, go-to-market, and scaled adoption. Working closely with global engineering, clinical, design, data science, sales, and customer success teams, this Product Manager will help build AI-driven solutions that improve clinical decision-making, reduce documentation burden, and deliver measurable outcomes for health systems and clinicians.

Candidates should be based in San Francisco, Chicago or Boston.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the end-to-end strategy, roadmap, development, launch, and scaling of AI-driven clinical intelligence across ambulatory workflows, including pre-visit, encounter, documentation, follow-up, and panel management.

  • Build decision-support solutions that augment clinical judgment, reduce documentation burden, and deliver specialty- and role-specific recommendations without disrupting clinician autonomy or workflow.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across engineering, clinical, design, data science, sales, and customer success teams from product definition through scaled adoption.

  • Partner closely with health systems to identify clinical, documentation, and coding opportunities, validate solutions, gather real-world feedback, and drive adoption.

  • Write detailed product requirements and acceptance criteria, participate in technical design reviews, and work closely with engineering from prototype through launch.

  • Define product success metrics and use data to measure clinical outcomes, customer value, adoption, utilization, and ROI.

  • Help define and evaluate LLM-based clinical capabilities, including clinical validation, golden datasets, hallucination and safety checks, RAG, prompt engineering, and clinical NLP.

  • Establish standards for responsibly deploying AI across clinical workflows while navigating healthcare interoperability, security, governance, and regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with commercial and clinical teams to shape positioning, pilots, enterprise expansion, and go-to-market strategy.

  • Move quickly in an ambiguous environment, unblock teams, iterate based on clinical feedback, and maintain a strong focus on measurable outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of product management experience with deep healthcare exposure, including direct experience building products for inpatient or ambulatory clinical settings within large hospital systems.

  • Proven experience taking healthcare products from 0 ? 1 ? scale, including defining requirements, partnering through technical design and development, launching products, and driving adoption.

  • Experience shipping products integrated with major EHRs; Epic experience is strongly preferred.

  • Strong technical and analytical capabilities, including SQL, with the ability to define success metrics, troubleshoot alongside engineers, and make informed product and architecture tradeoffs.

  • Deep understanding of clinical workflows and empathy for clinicians and care teams, including the time pressure, cognitive load, and documentation burden they experience.

  • Experience with healthcare interoperability and clinical data, including familiarity with HL7, FHIR, clinical data models, and ontologies such as LOINC and ICD-10.

  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML products, ideally including LLM-based clinical applications, RAG, prompt engineering, clinical NLP, and evaluation frameworks for safety, hallucinations, and clinical validation.

  • Understanding of healthcare AI deployment requirements, including HIPAA, BAAs, hospital IT security, clinical governance, clinical validation, and real-world pilots.

  • Experience collaborating across distributed engineering, clinical, design, data science, sales, and customer success teams to move products from development through customer adoption and expansion.

  • Familiarity with modern cloud platforms; Azure is preferred, with AWS experience also relevant.

  • Strong design intuition and the ability to simplify complex clinical and technical experiences.

  • An entrepreneurial, outcomes-driven mindset with the ability to operate autonomously, navigate ambiguity, make decisions quickly, and keep teams moving toward measurable results.
