Carex is partnering with a financial services industry partner to identify a Project Manager to lead the planning and coordination of a small-scale production studio buildout within an existing office space in Washington, DC. This is not a traditional facilities project—oversight is led by the Creative Team, with Facilities serving as a consultative partner. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in guiding this effort from the design and stakeholder alignment phases through construction readiness. The ideal candidate brings construction project experience with a strong understanding of AV systems, design sensitivity, and stakeholder engagement. This role will require flexibility, high-touch communication, and a hands-on project management approach to ensure smooth execution with minimal disruption to the business.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead project coordination across space planning, stakeholder engagement, and vendor interactions from design through construction prep.

  • Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle including scope, schedule, and stakeholder impact while aligning with internal Creative Team leadership.

  • Partner with the project lead and core Facilities members to integrate space needs and technical design priorities.

  • Oversee vendor coordination and maintain productive, positive working relationships.

  • Ensure all project documentation—including meeting recaps, decisions, and action items—is detailed and consistently maintained.

  • Provide support in maintaining the stakeholder engagement strategy, with a focus on minimizing operational disruption.

  • Monitor risk and manage stakeholder expectations with foresight and empathy.

  • Contribute to financial forecasting accuracy while supporting a clear view of project metrics.

  • Adapt quickly to established team rhythms and weekly oversight check-ins.

  • Participate remotely during early design phases with flexibility to be on-site if extended beyond the design phase into construction.

  • If extended past the initial phase, serve as on-site liaison during construction for jobsite visits and contractor coordination.

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience managing construction projects; production or broadcast studio background highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of audiovisual systems and space planning dynamics.

  • Keen design sensibility with ability to interpret and support creative vision in a physical buildout.

  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time, on budget, and within scope.

  • Experience working with not-for-profit organizations or associations is a plus.

  • High financial acumen, with the ability to support and inform project forecasting.

  • Strong vendor management skills with a collaborative, yet persistent approach.

  • Excellent documentation habits and detail orientation.

  • Superior communication skills, particularly in engaging stakeholders with empathy and foresight.

  • Availability of approximately 20 hours/week through December, with some flexibility week to week (10–24 hours), averaging no more than 20.

  • DC-based candidates preferred; remote work feasible during design phase. Jobsite visits expected if project is extended into 2026.
