Carex is partnering with a mission driven Healthcare Consulting partner to find a highly motivated and well-connected Strategic Sales Director to lead business development efforts targeting executive leadership within health systems. This founding sales hire will focus on generating qualified leads and opening doors to C-suite decision-makers. While this role will own the full end-to-end sales cycle, it carries a strong emphasis on prospecting, outbound strategy, and a “hunter” mentality—targeting executive-level stakeholders. The ideal candidate is energized by a mission to make healthcare more sustainable and affordable, and is excited to work alongside a team of experienced healthcare leaders who deeply understand the landscape. This is a high-impact, externally facing role with ample growth opportunity. Seeking candidates in the Midwest or Northeast.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary driver of top-of-funnel activity, focused on business development within health systems and hospital networks

  • Leverage your established network of healthcare executives to initiate contact and drive engagement at the CEO, CFO, COO, and other C-suite levels

  • Identify and cultivate new opportunities through referrals, research, and strategic outreach

  • Lead early-stage sales conversations and hand off to internal stakeholders as needed for qualification and solutioning

  • Follow and support the entire end-to-end sales process from initial outreach through to closing

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align outreach strategies and provide market feedback to improve positioning and messaging

  • Stay current on industry trends and client challenges to articulate a compelling value proposition

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years in healthcare business development, sales, or consulting, with direct access to decision-makers in hospital systems

  • Strong existing relationships at the C-suite level within the healthcare provider space

  • Proven ability to open doors, generate leads, and navigate complex sales processes

  • High executive presence, outstanding interpersonal skills, and ability to build credibility quickly

  • Strategic thinker with a self-starting approach and comfort working autonomously

  • Background in healthcare operations, finance, or sustainability is a strong plus

  • Passion for mission-driven work and the agility to thrive in a startup-like environment

Compensation

  • Base salary of $60,000 with first-year On-Target Earnings (OTE) exceeding $200,000

  • Tremendous opportunity for growth as company continues to scale

  • Approved business expenses, including mileage, will be reimbursed
