Carex is partnering with a global manufacturing partner to hire a Layout Designer for an onsite role located in Oshkosh, WI. This position focuses on supporting engineering teams by editing and updating technical drawings using CAD tools, specifically Creo, within a structured product development environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in defense or government programs and demonstrate initiative, collaboration, and a willingness to learn.
What You’ll Do

Update and revise existing engineering drawings based on redlines and engineering direction.

Create and modify 2D and 3D layouts using Creo CAD software.

Ensure accuracy, appropriate dimensioning, and adherence to established CAD standards through self-checks.

Create and maintain part numbers and related data in ERP and Windchill systems.

Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) in accordance with standards.

Collaborate with engineers and team members to ensure drawing quality and accuracy across the product lifecycle.
What You’ll Bring

Associate degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent (additional relevant experience may substitute for formal education).

At least 2 years of drafting/design experience; 3+ years preferred.

Proficiency with Creo and Windchill.

Previous experience in defense or government program environments.

Familiarity with Model-Based Definition (MBD) practices in automotive or aerospace settings.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Strong attention to detail, adaptability to fast-paced environments, and collaborative communication skills.

Preferred but not required: GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) certification.

Compensation

Pay Rate: $30-40/hour
