Business Analyst
Location: Hybrid – Madison, WI
Summary
Carex is partnering with a FinTech industry partner to find a Business Analyst to support the Risk Surveillance & Incident Management team on a contract basis. This role will focus on analyzing, documenting, and improving processes that strengthen risk identification, incident tracking, and response capabilities. The Business Analyst will collaborate across business and technical teams to ensure data integrity, enhance system functionality, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the organization’s risk and incident management frameworks.
What You’ll Do

Partner with stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, IT, and Operations to elicit and document business requirements for risk and incident management processes.

Analyze current-state workflows, identify gaps, and recommend process improvements to enhance surveillance, reporting, and mitigation efforts.

Translate business needs into actionable technical requirements for development and configuration within incident and risk management tools.

Support data validation, testing, and deployment activities for system enhancements or new functionality.

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process maps, business rules, and user stories.

Monitor incident and risk data trends to identify potential process or control improvements.

Coordinate and facilitate meetings with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.

Assist in developing dashboards, reports, and metrics to enhance transparency and support management decision-making.

Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and governance standards in all risk and incident management practices.
What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Risk Management, or related field—or equivalent professional experience.

Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in risk management, compliance, audit, or incident management environments.

Strong understanding of risk assessment, control processes, and incident response frameworks.

Experience with process documentation tools and data visualization/reporting platforms.

Ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements and actionable solutions.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
