Biorepository Associate I
Summary
Carex is partnering with a BioTech industry partner to find a dedicated Biorepository Associate I to support sample management for research and development activities. This role is responsible for receiving, processing, storing, and retrieving human samples used in studies ranging from proof-of-concept experiments to clinical validation. The Biorepository Associate I will play a vital role in maintaining high-quality sample integrity, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting the continuous growth and optimization of biorepository operations.
What You’ll Do

Accession, process, and document incoming samples while ensuring accuracy and data integrity in electronic systems.

Establish, maintain, and update a physical and digital inventory of all stored samples.

Manage all sample transactions into and out of the lab, ensuring appropriate authorization and documentation.

Identify and support process improvements to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.

Assist with testing and implementing new protocols, storage methods, and equipment such as barcoding systems and ultra-low freezers.

Participate in the organization and physical build-out of the storage facility as operations expand.

Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate sample handling and issue resolution.

Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to address operational needs and provide updates.

Maintain compliance with biosafety, data management, and quality control standards in a CLIA/CAP-certified environment.

Support team-based objectives and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.
What You’ll Bring

High School Diploma or GED required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general computer literacy.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and adherence to established protocols.

Effective written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced lab environment.

Comfortable handling human samples and working with laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, and barcoding systems.

Commitment to maintaining sample integrity, safety, and data accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working in a laboratory or biorepository environment.

Familiarity with laboratory equipment, biosafety practices, and sample management systems.

Understanding of laboratory terminology and common processing protocols.
