Carex is partnering with an insurance industry partner to hire a Data Test Engineer for a 1-year Contract to Hire opportunity. This hybrid role requires 10 days per month onsite, offering flexibility without fixed in-office days. The position plays a vital role in validating data infrastructure, user interfaces, and services to ensure quality and reliability. With a focus on data validation, this role demands attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a strong ability to develop and execute high-quality automated test cases.
What You’ll Do

Design and develop automated data test scenarios based on system specifications

Build test scripts using appropriate tools to ensure data accuracy and consistency

Execute automated testing strategies across the analysis, design, implementation, and execution phases

Brainstorm enhancements for testing procedures and data quality strategies

Perform regression, ELT, browser, performance, stress, resiliency, and infrastructure testing

Implement and validate data manipulation or modeling

Investigate and document data quality defects, including detailed steps to reproduce and environment specifics

Maintain detailed and accurate test documentation including test cases, data, and results
-
Promote best practices in data testing and quality across teams

Collaborate with Software Quality Manager, Data Engineers, Developers, Product Owners, and other key stakeholders

Communicate clearly and transparently to address and resolve issues efficiently

Contribute to improving testing processes and workflows

Participate in Agile team ceremonies including Quarterly Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives

Foster a collaborative and positive team environment

What You’ll Bring

Proficiency in Python and AWS Glue/Lambda
-
Strong command of SQL for test automation and data validation

Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub Actions, GitLab pipelines, and Jenkins

Background in Agile/DevOps environments with cross-functional collaboration

Experience in front-end and back-end testing

Familiarity with modern scripting language-based component testing

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for QA advocacy within teams
