Carex is partnering with a technology platform company to hire a Director of Marketing, Paid Media & GEO. This role is ideal for a hands-on operator and strategic thinker who can modernize performance marketing in a rapidly evolving search landscape. Based in Wisconsin or Texas, this person will take ownership of paid media across channels while building a clear strategy for generative engine optimization (GEO) and LLM visibility.

This opportunity is suited for someone who can confidently manage campaigns in platforms like Google Ads and LinkedIn, continuously optimize performance, and provide executive-level guidance on how marketing should evolve in the age of AI. The right person brings sharp judgment, strong technical fluency, and the ability to translate data into action.

What You'll Do

  • Own paid media strategy and execution across Google, LinkedIn, and other high-performing channels.
  • Audit current campaigns and quickly determine what to pause, improve, scale, or launch.
  • Manage budget allocation, targeting strategy, keyword strategy, bidding, and channel mix.
  • Build and lead a roadmap for GEO and AI-search visibility across platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and emerging LLM ecosystems.
  • Analyze how prospects discover solutions through AI-generated answers and improve brand visibility systematically.
  • Monitor campaign performance daily and make pragmatic optimization decisions based on outcomes.
  • Translate performance insights into direction for designers and copywriters on messaging, creative, and landing page improvements.
  • Develop reporting that ties spend to pipeline, revenue opportunity, and business impact rather than vanity metrics.
  • Advise leadership on where marketing should be headed and where investment should shift.
  • Operate independently in a business category without a standard competitor playbook.

What You'll Bring

  • 5–10 years of paid media experience within software or technology organizations.
  • Proven ownership of budgets, performance outcomes, and growth targets.
  • Deep expertise with Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, attribution models, analytics platforms, and campaign optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience improving LLM visibility, GEO, or AI-search discoverability through shipped initiatives or measurable programs.
  • Strong strategic judgment paired with willingness to execute directly in platforms and dashboards.
  • Experience leading creative direction through data-backed recommendations.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-moving environments where autonomy and initiative are expected.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Residence in Wisconsin or Texas.

Preferred experience:

  • Marketing technical, developer-focused, or complex products.
  • Experience supporting government, healthcare, financial services, or other regulated markets.

Compensation

$140,000–$160,000 base salary.
