Carex is partnering with a Utility industry partner to hire a Document Control Specialist. The Document Control Specialist will oversee and maintain construction project documentation processes, ensuring adherence to business requirements and quality standards. This position plays a key role in the successful management and audit of project documents through Oracle Primavera Unifier and related systems.
Duration: 1 year+
Pay Rate:
$30-32/hr for level 1
$45-48 for level 2
$65-67 for level 3

What You’ll Do

Oversee and manage the Document Management System (Oracle Primavera Unifier), including workflows, submittals, RFIs, letters, emails, and electronic filing.

Coordinate electronic and hard copy filing for technical documentation; provide regular deliverable status reports to Project Managers.

Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure appropriate resources are aligned with each workflow step; identify and communicate project risk indicators.

Train internal and partner users in effective system use and document control procedures.

Act as the subject matter expert for document control activities and contractual compliance.

Support QA/QC through audits of contractor document control activities; conduct audits in the absence of QA/QC.

Maintain accurate and current project document lists.

Coordinate with Records Management for document archiving and long-term storage.

Liaise with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to verify the accuracy of technical documentation.

Operate under the supervision of a manager while supporting ongoing project needs.
What You’ll Bring

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, document management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

5+ years of relevant experience in document control or construction project documentation.

Valid driver’s license required.

Proficiency in document control and project management systems; Oracle Primavera Unifier and P6 preferred.

Familiarity with additional project/document management platforms is a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve moderately complex issues.

Proficient with standard business software (email, word processing, spreadsheets).

Effective communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated flexibility, initiative, and judgment in dynamic environments.

Experience in highly regulated industries such as electric utility, oil and gas, or power generation is preferred.
