Carex is partnering with a non-profit healthcare industry partner to bring on an Epic Professional Billing and Claims Team Lead who will guide affiliate communication, system design, and build throughout the implementation and support lifecycle. This is a senior-level role for an experienced Epic analyst who thrives in a collaborative environment, takes initiative, and provides mentorship and leadership to elevate the performance of the team. While this is not a formal management position, the Team Lead will serve as a go-to resource, driving high-quality standards in build and QA processes, and representing the team in key stakeholder meetings. This role is ideal for someone who is mission-driven, passionate about equity in healthcare, and excels in both customer service and technical excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary liaison for our affiliates, maintaining open and responsive communication channels.

  • Meet with affiliate staff to understand unique workflows and evaluate how foundational Epic builds align with operational needs.

  • Translate best practices into effective design, build, and testing for PB, Claims, and RTE functionality within Epic.

  • Lead large-scale optimization projects and enhancements from design through post-implementation support.

  • Act as a technical mentor to other analysts, fostering professional development and shared knowledge.

  • Support affiliate readiness activities during implementation, go-live, and stabilization periods.

  • Represent the PB/Claims/RTE team in project and vendor meetings as assigned.

  • Collaborate with Epic representatives and internal project teams, maintaining consistent, strategic communication.

  • Partner with the Training team to create user documentation including workflow diagrams and tip sheets.

  • Assist with routine maintenance, upgrades, and optimizations related to PB/Claims/RTE areas.

  • Provide onboarding support and mentorship to new team members.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training.

  • 5–7+ years of Epic experience with certification in Resolute Professional Billing Administration and Charge Router or Claims.

  • Proven ability to lead complex system builds and QA efforts in Professional Billing within Epic.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Strong project management capabilities including meeting facilitation and documentation.

  • Demonstrated customer service mindset with experience supporting multiple healthcare organizations.

  • Ability to cultivate trust and maintain effective relationships with affiliates, peers, and leadership.

  • High professional maturity and strong mentoring abilities.

  • Technical problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Strong understanding of racial inequities and their implications within healthcare systems.

  • Preferred: Certification in Real Time Eligibility (RTE) and/or both PB/Claims; experience with Epic’s Cash Management; experience in healthcare operations or project management.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $100,000–$115,000 annually, dependent on experience and alignment with the role’s requirements. If the range doesn’t align with your needs, please still apply!
