Summary
Carex is partnering with a Energy and Utilities industry partner to identify an End User Compute professional to support an annual device lifecycle initiative and ongoing client computing operations. This role focuses on preparing, deploying, and supporting end-user devices while ensuring reliable performance across desktop, mobile, and remote computing environments. The position works directly with business users to deliver high-quality device services, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement improvements to client computing technologies that support business operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Support device lifecycle initiatives including unboxing, imaging, configuration, software deployment, profile building, and device preparation for end users.

  • Provide white-glove support to end users during device deployments and refresh activities.

  • Build, configure, and deploy new machines while also processing devices for employee terminations and redeployment.

  • Implement, support, and maintain PC and end-user device technologies across LAN/WAN, mobile, and remote connectivity environments.

  • Document, configure, install, test, distribute, and maintain client computing systems of low to moderate complexity.

  • Work directly with end users to deliver reliable client computing services, technical guidance, and informal training.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to hardware, software, and end-user training materials.

  • Evaluate requests for new workstation hardware or modifications to existing equipment and recommend appropriate solutions based on business needs.

  • Coordinate and complete move, add, and change requests related to desktop computing technologies.

  • Resolve escalated technical issues related to PC hardware, applications, connectivity, and related systems through Help Desk escalation processes.

  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation supporting client computing services.

  • Contribute to IT projects focused on improving and upgrading technology capabilities.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased operational efficiency.

  • Plan and implement hardware upgrades while anticipating potential issues and preparing contingency plans.

  • Monitor and maintain hardware inventory associated with client computing devices.

  • Translate customer requirements into tasks and stories using Agile tools and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

  • Associate degree with emphasis in Information Technology or a related field preferred.

  • Approximately 2 years of experience providing PC support in a networked environment.

  • Experience administering Microsoft Windows operating systems and supporting standard enterprise application packages.

  • Hands-on experience with imaging tools, profile migration techniques, and client computing hardware and peripherals.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for PC hardware, applications, and connectivity issues.

  • Understanding of software distribution concepts and endpoint deployment processes.

  • Working knowledge of network operating systems and core networking concepts including TCP/IP, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, routers, and common LAN architectures.

  • Ability to document processes and create user-focused technical documentation and training materials.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills when working with technical teams and end users.

  • Ability to apply logical reasoning to diagnose and resolve low to moderate complexity technical issues.

  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse professional environment.
