We're looking for a passionate Cytotechnologist that wants to play a key role in helping women achieve the healthcare they need. This role is a contract opportunity that is open to ASCP(CT) certified individuals, either local or travelers, looking to make a difference. The position hours are 1st shift, 7:00am – 3:30pm with some flexibility, Monday-Friday.
What You'll Do:
The Clinical Cytotechnologist screens and evaluates any gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens sent to the laboratory for the determination of possible malignant or related abnormal conditions. The Cytotechnologist role will include aspects such as:
- Screening of all liquid-based cytology, both manual and imaged, as well as conventional slides.
- Perform microscopic evaluation of cytological specimens following laboratory procedures and workload policies.
- Ensure proper documentation of workload recording, including screening and non-screening activities as required by CLIA and laboratory guidelines.
- Maintain absolute integrity in the accurate performance and reporting of results.
- Meet slide screening requirements as per standard operating procedure.
- Finalize testing results into the computer in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide backup for cytology processing and other tasks as needed.
- Comply with all safety, infection control, and HIPAA policies.
- Provide occasional assistance at local hospitals on ultrasound-guided FNA procedures.
What You'll Bring:
- AS in Medical Technology or BS from an accredited college/university.
- Successful completion of an accredited Cytology program.
- ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification is required.
- Prior experience working in Cytology is required.
- ThinPrep Certification is a plus.
- Candidates will need to pass slide screening requirements and annual CAP proficiency test.
Candidate will also need to have the following in order to be successful in the role:
- Demonstrated understanding of Cyto Preparation techniques.
- Some familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS).
- Ability to work independently or with others within the hospital setting.
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail.

This role is a 3+ month contract and provides exceptional experience with a well-known and admired global company! The position is 2nd shift and is Monday – Friday from 3:30pm – 12:00am with rotating weekends (40 hours total each week). Candidates must have CLS license / licensed by CA.
What You'll Do:
The Clinical Laboratory Team is seeking an experienced Technologist to help improve patient health and deliver quality laboratory services.
The Technologist conducts qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses within a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory that includes:
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
- Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
- Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
- Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
- Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
What You'll Bring:
- BS in Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a related degree, and able to meet CLIA and state requirements.
- At least 1 year of experience in a Clinical Laboratory.
- CLS Certification / Licensed by the state of California.
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus.
- High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
- Som flexibility to work overtime on occasion or other shifts depending on business needs.
