Manager - DevOps

Carex’s partner is a Regional Health Insurance leader, seeking a DevOps manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment. 

What you’ll do:

  • Provide direct oversight of teams responsible for ensuring production and test environments are stable and well performing. These teams are comprised of the database administrators, application administrators (both business applications and development tools), as well the release management, environment management, and enterprise production support personnel.
  • Work closely with leaders in infrastructure, development, and application configuration to implement and maintain solutions. Manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery efforts across IT.
  • Partner with technology leaders/architects/practitioners to create roadmaps that prescribe the lifecycle for components in alignment with the overall Business & IT Strategy and to ensure that the Technical Reference Model aligns appropriately with current industry standards and new technology implementations. Partnership should also include identification and selection of new products, services and technologies in line with the overall Business & Technology Strategy.
  • Review business cases for proposed IT initiatives to ensure costs and services required for deployment, operations and support are included. Serve as a key member/contributor on the Enterprise Architecture Review Board. Serve as a key member/contributor on the IT Standards Committee.
  • Responsible for the management of employees including: performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, career path, workflow planning, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions. Ensure timely and accurate completion of administrative tasks by team members (e.g. time tracking).
  • Develop effective working and collaborative relationships throughout the organization. Build and maintain relationships with vendors of select 3rd Party applications.
  • Review and approve production changes. Manage the upgrade efforts of select technical and business applications. Support annual IT Disaster Recovery planning and testing activities.
  • Manage assigned IT Service Management work queues and related team member assignments (e.g. incidents, service requests, etc.). Establish key performance indicators and service level agreements as part of a continuous improvement program that meet the needs of the organization.
  • Serve as the champion for IT Service Management (ITIL) processes within the IT operations and shared services teams in relation to Incident Management, Problem Management, Configuration Management, Change, Release and Deployment Management.
  • Manage expenses within approved budget level.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring:

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors’ degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of experience and education

EXPERIENCE

  • Five years’ experience within Information Technology, including three years’ individual practitioner and five years’ leadership experience
