Carex is partnering with a financial services industry partner to hire a Manager of People Technology to lead the strategy, implementation, and evolution of People systems. This is a highly influential hybrid position based in Madison, WI, providing leadership to a talented team responsible for ensuring the tools and systems supporting the employee lifecycle are scalable, intuitive, and aligned with a people-first culture.

This role combines strategic vision with hands-on system leadership. The ideal candidate thrives in cross-functional collaboration, embraces systems change, and balances people leadership with functional HRIS expertise. From coaching team members on technical enhancements to translating organizational needs into smart system configurations, the Manager of People Technology is essential in advancing the digital employee experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a collaborative HRIS team that embraces growth, ownership, and solution-oriented thinking

  • Oversee the People Technology ecosystem—including systems supporting HR, Talent, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, and People Experience

  • Serve as primary business owner for core People systems (currently UKG), ensuring long-term system integrity and scalability

  • Manage end-to-end system implementations and optimization efforts, with emphasis on upcoming transitions to new Learning, Performance, and Compensation platforms

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements, prioritize system enhancements, and drive clarity across stakeholder groups

  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts, including participation in RFP processes and facilitation of demos and evaluations

  • Oversee system data governance, including audits, security, access controls, and compliance

  • Enhance analytics and dashboard capabilities to improve visibility and support data-informed people decisions

  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes, improve user experience, and reduce administrative burden

  • Champion change leadership and communication strategies during system upgrades or cross-functional initiatives

  • Work closely with peers in Total Rewards, Talent, L&D, and DEIB to ensure People Technology aligns with strategic goals

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience working with HRIS or People Technology systems

  • 2+ years of experience leading people, projects, or cross-functional initiatives

  • Strong background in system administration, vendor management, or business analysis

  • Proven ability to coach and empower others

  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills

  • Preferred: Experience implementing or optimizing HR platforms (e.g., Learning, Performance, Compensation, Talent)

  • Preferred: Familiarity with UKG Pro or similar systems, Agile/Scrum practices, and People Operations in mid-to-large sized organizations
