Carex is partnering with a global manufacturing partner to hire a Mechanical Engineer located in Oshkosh, WI, for a contract running through March 2026 with the potential for extension. This role focuses on the design, analysis, and development of heavy-duty vehicle components, emphasizing functionality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. The engineer will play a key role in supporting both new vehicle programs and enhancements to existing platforms.
What You’ll Do

Design mechanical components that meet performance, safety, and cost targets for heavy-duty vehicles

Conduct engineering calculations, modeling, and investigations under established standards and procedures

Support senior engineers with plans, design concepts, computations, and reporting

Manage individual projects or portions of larger initiatives, potentially overseeing multiple assignments simultaneously

Collaborate across internal teams and with external suppliers to ensure design integrity and execution

Mentor junior engineers, designers, and technicians working on shared projects

Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, specifications, and bills of material
-
Perform engineering analysis to guide material and component selection

Address and resolve production-related issues and design challenges

Communicate technical findings through proposals, reports, presentations, and verbal updates

Maintain accurate documentation to support ongoing analysis and future reference

Apply mathematical and analytical techniques to evaluate and optimize system performance
What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering

3+ years of relevant engineering experience

Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle systems

Experience using high-level CAD systems

Proven ability to perform technical evaluations and apply industry engineering standards

Strong communication skills for working with internal teams, suppliers, and cross-functional partners

Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail
