• Location: Madison, Wisconsin
  • Remote: Hybrid
  • Type: Contract
  • Job #5358

Carex is partnering with a biotech industry partner to find an experienced Product Owner / Business Analyst to support a high-priority project requiring immediate ramp-up and minimal oversight. This is a 6-month contract role (with possible extension), and ideally will be based hybrid onsite in Madison, WI (may consider remote candidates as well). Ideal for a self-starter with a strong background in Epic systems and EMR integrations. The successful candidate will bring structure, calm, and clarity to a fast-moving, high-volume workload by quickly immersing in the project and driving forward critical business analysis and product ownership efforts.

What You’ll Do

  • Quickly engage with stakeholders and project teams to assess current workflows and pain points, with minimal onboarding required.

  • Serve as both Product Owner and Business Analyst, driving forward backlog grooming, sprint planning, and requirements documentation.

  • Conduct user story development, requirement gathering, and process analysis in coordination with clinical and technical teams.

  • Collaborate across functional areas to define and prioritize features, enhancements, and system integrations.

  • Support EMR integration efforts with a working knowledge of Epic (Prelude, Beaker) and interface concepts.

  • Organize and bring clarity to an overloaded project environment, helping stakeholders manage deliverables and timelines.

  • Translate business needs into actionable technical requirements and ensure alignment with enterprise systems.

  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, conduct gap analysis, and provide clear documentation for technical teams.

  • Proactively identify potential project risks or roadblocks and recommend solutions.

  • Maintain a strong focus on delivering user-centered solutions in a regulated environment.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or hybrid role in a fast-paced, cross-functional project setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to hit the ground running and work independently with minimal direction.

  • Solid experience with Epic systems—especially Beaker and Prelude—and general understanding of EMR integrations and interfaces.

  • Exceptional skills in requirement gathering, user story writing, and business process mapping.

  • Highly organized and effective in managing shifting priorities and large workloads.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially in clinical or life sciences settings.

  • Background in or familiarity with the life sciences industry is a strong plus.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and sprint-based delivery models.
