Carex is partnering with a health insurance industry partner to find a skilled and adaptable Project Manager to join their Project Management Team. This role will focus on leading strategic initiatives from inception through delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Utilizing a hybrid project delivery approach that blends Agile methodologies with traditional frameworks like Waterfall, the Project Manager will be empowered to tailor their strategy to each project’s unique needs—driving clarity, coordination, and business value. This role offers a hybrid work environment based in Madison, WI, with on?site expectations varying by candidate location.
Compensation (upon conversion): $77,200–$96,500 + benefits
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm CST
Interview Process: 3 virtual interviews, with Round 1 including an interactive scenario
What You’ll Do
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of 2–3 concurrent projects, varying in complexity and size.
- Manage multi?year projects with 5–10 cross?functional team members across diverse disciplines.
- Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to design and implement initiatives aligned with organizational priorities.
- Serve as the primary project owner throughout all phases—coordinating cross?functional teams, supporting decision?making, and ensuring accountability.
- Apply hybrid delivery methods (Agile + Waterfall) in alignment with guidance from the Enterprise Business Agility Coach as the organization continues its Agile transformation.
- Identify and manage project risks, developing and executing effective mitigation and communication strategies.
- Coordinate with the broader PM team to manage inter?project dependencies and impacts.
- Develop and implement clear communication plans to keep stakeholders—including executives—consistently informed and engaged.
- Facilitate project meetings and escalate critical issues, delays, or deviations as needed to ensure proactive issue resolution.
- Leverage project management tools, including emerging AI tools, to streamline administrative or repeatable tasks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including new PM tools, processes, and Agile practices.
What You’ll Bring
Education & Experience (one of the following):
- Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of project management experience
- Associate degree with 5+ years of project management experience
- High school equivalency with 8+ years of project management experience
Required Skills & Competencies
- Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to articulate project size, scope, complexity, and outcomes.
- Experience delivering projects using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
- Highly organized, transparent, accountable, and adept at critical thinking—asking the “why.”
- Open mindset and adaptability as the organization shifts further into Agile practices.
- Ability to build strong internal relationships and foster collaborative team environments.
- Excellent analytical, problem?solving, and facilitation capabilities.
- Strong meeting process, negotiation, verbal, and written communication skills.

- Experience using AI tools to support PM tasks and workflows.
