Carex is partnering with a financial services industry partner to identify a detail-oriented and hands-on part-time Project Manager to support the successful implementation of a custom-built PAC (Political Action Committee) transmission system. This role is critical in maintaining the current positive trajectory of the project—already tracking well in scope, budget, and timeline—as it approaches its October 1st go-live and early December closure. The selected Project Manager will not work from the periphery, but rather as an active, embedded team member ensuring alignment and momentum throughout all phases of the project.
This role is expected to be 20 hours/week, with work being conducted during the workday. Preference to have someone in Madison, WI, but open to fully remote candidates as well.
What You’ll Do

Rapidly onboard by reviewing project notes and logs to gain a clear understanding of progress and next steps.

Apply and align with the current project methodology without introducing process changes.

Take full ownership of documentation, including meeting notes, action items, and key decisions.

Actively manage follow-ups with both internal and vendor stakeholders using persistence and professionalism.

Support risk and stakeholder management with exceptional clarity and follow-through.

Comply with PMO governance standards including status reporting, change governance, and portfolio updates.

Provide direct support to the Business Analyst leading testing activities, particularly through August.

Assist with external communications and organizational change management initiatives.

Contribute to training and communication efforts across the project.

Engage with technical aspects of the project, especially around system development lifecycle and two-way data integration.

Oversee data integration and reporting deliverables, and support a website development component within the overall scope.

Familiarity with PMO frameworks, including governance, status, and portfolio reporting.

Ability to support training, testing, and communication initiatives within the project.

Bonus: Experience with Nimble or similar tools.

Bonus: Understanding of PAC-related compliance (e.g., reporting requirements, contribution limits).

Availability for approximately 20 hours/week through December, with flexibility around go-live and post-launch periods.

Ability to work remotely; preference given to candidates in the Madison area willing to be on-site once weekly.
