Quality Control Analytical Scientist
Location: Greater Madison, WI

Carex is partnering with a Biotech industry partner to hire a Quality Control Analytical Scientist to support method development, characterization, and validation of analytical techniques for both existing and new products. This role focuses on materials such as small molecules, particles, and polymers used in life science research and medical devices. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on laboratory expertise in Quality Control environments and be proficient with a variety of analytical instrumentation.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct analytical method validation and characterization in support of process improvements, product transfers, and new product initiatives.

  • Contribute to the development and validation of analytical methods, as well as perform raw material and product testing.

  • Maintain operational proficiency with QC lab instruments and associated analytical methods used in product release testing.

  • Evaluate analytical data and perform re-validation as needed during installation or qualification of lab equipment.

  • Accurately report and document analytical results in compliance with the Quality System, including data entry into the SAP Quality Module and issuing Certificates of Analysis.

  • Maintain QC testing materials, including retention samples and reference standards.

  • Ensure compliance with all ethical, legal, and regulatory standards relevant to the business.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Quality Control laboratory with advanced instrumentation.

  • Proven track record in analytical method validation.

  • Hands-on experience with analytical tools such as GC, HPLC, NMR, Karl Fischer titration, and extinction coefficient analysis.

  • Strong working knowledge of analytical parameters including solubility, viscosity, mass, and conductivity.

  • Competency in statistical analysis, including descriptive statistics, confidence intervals, linear regression, and the use of data analysis tools.
