Carex is partnering with a Manufacturing industry partner to hire a Quality Engineer. This role plays a critical part in managing quality systems, driving corrective actions, maintaining certifications, and working closely with customers, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure compliance with ISO and IATF standards. The position also supports Six Sigma initiatives and facilitates continuous improvement activities throughout the facility.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as the primary liaison for customer quality issues, including nonconforming materials (NCMs) and corrective actions (CARs).

  • Serve as the lead auditor for internal quality system audits (IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001).

  • Drive and implement corrective actions in collaboration with customers, plant personnel, and suppliers.

  • Maintain required customer quality certifications.

  • Review and authorize disposition of nonconforming material, including Material Review Authorization (MRA) processing.

  • Participate in Six Sigma projects, Plant Quality Board, and engineering/production taskforces.

  • Train quality personnel in testing and measurement procedures.

  • Complete Production Part Approval Processes (PPAPs) and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Maintain plant calibration systems and perform measurement system analysis (MSA) including GR&R studies.

  • Develop and maintain DFMEAs, PFMEAs, control plans, QA procedures, and work instructions.

  • Maintain and update applicable test software.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline, or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).

  • 3–5 years of experience in quality assurance, with knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO9001 (IATF16949 preferred).

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, SMED, or related methodologies.

  • Proficiency with quality tools such as DOE, SPC, FMEA, and 8D problem-solving.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to influence and lead teams.

  • Competency in training and developing quality team members.

  • Computer literacy and mechanical aptitude.

  • Familiarity with APQP and requirements outlined in ISO documentation.
