Carex is partnering with a healthtech industry partner to find a Senior Data Integrity Engineer (Healthcare EDI) who will lead the intake, investigation, and quality assurance of healthcare data sources that power advanced analytics and AI-driven products. This remote position is ideal for an experienced EDI data professional who excels in navigating ambiguity, solving complex data problems, and transforming fragmented healthcare data into trusted assets. Although this is a remote role, preference will be given to candidates located in or willing to relocate to Wisconsin.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a primary resource for the intake of new Healthcare EDI data, including matching claims submissions and remittances and defining target populations through data-based exclusions

  • Investigate anomalies across payer, provider, and clearinghouse data feeds

  • Own the onboarding, mapping logic, and data integrity validation pipelines for incoming datasets

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Client Success teams to resolve ingestion or matching issues

  • Participate in ad-hoc data analyses related to claims-based research

  • Define and continuously improve data intake and validation frameworks for EDI pipelines

  • Review and document existing code bases and data flow processes

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience working with Healthcare EDI data, including 837 (Institutional and Professional) and 835 transactions

  • Strong SQL programming skills, with the ability to write and interpret complex queries for data analysis and transformation

  • Domain expertise in claims processing, eligibility, enrollment, referrals, or prior authorizations

  • Experience with EDI intake pipelines, including validation rules, matching logic, and exception handling

  • Familiarity with EHR/EMR data, particularly from provider practice systems such as Epic or Cerner, is preferred

  • Working knowledge of healthcare data terminology and formats, including claim numbering and split transactions

  • Experience with cloud-based solutions such as AWS or Snowflake

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, or a related field

  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work across teams and communicate technical findings clearly

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and communication channels simultaneously

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $110,000–$145,000 depending on experience. If the range doesn’t align with your needs, please still apply!
