Carex is partnering with a healthtech startup industry partner to find a Full Stack Software Development Engineer (SDE) who thrives in a dynamic, early-stage environment. This fully remote role (open to candidates based in the US with stronger preference to those in the NYC area) offers the opportunity to build and own end-to-end features that directly impact the modernization of home healthcare. Candidates must bring prior Healthtech and strong ownership to build and own end-to-end.
 

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and robust platform features across the stack

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines to support analytics and machine learning model development

  • Improve system performance and algorithmic efficiency to meet evolving product demands

  • Collaborate closely with internal users and external customers to refine features and workflows

  • Ship complete features from design through deployment, including testing and iteration

  • Contribute to technical decisions involving modern LLMs and NLP strategies

  • Prioritize high-leverage engineering decisions that balance scalability with rapid iteration

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience working in Healthtech environments

  • Strong end-to-end ownership mentality with startup-stage execution capability

  • Proficiency with core technologies including AWS, PostgreSQL, Redis, Python, Pytorch, React

  • Deep NLP understanding (e.g., NER, embeddings, full-text search) and practical implementation skills

  • Familiarity with modern development practices: Git, task tracking, readable/testable codebases

  • Flexibility to adapt between academic-level exploration and rapid product delivery

  • Experience working with healthcare datasets, HIPAA-compliant systems, and/or LLM-based applications is a strong plus

  • Must be authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship offered)
