Carex is partnering with a Manufacturing industry partner to hire a Sr. Industrial Engineer to support operations across U.S. and Mexico facilities. This role is responsible for designing best-in-class manufacturing systems that optimize the integration of people, equipment, materials, and data. The position focuses on data-driven design to improve footprint utilization, material and process flow, and manufacturing efficiency through strategic system planning and execution.
Fluency in both English and Spanish is required. 

What You’ll Do

  • Design and deliver comprehensive manufacturing systems for full and partial assembly processes across U.S. and MX sites.

  • Develop detailed layouts to optimize operator, machine, and material balance while ensuring ergonomic and safety compliance.

  • Create supporting tools and documentation including error proofing strategies, standard work procedures, SOPs, and material handling plans.

  • Conduct time studies, balance charts, labor linearity plans, and capacity models to inform decision-making for multiple production volume levels.

  • Implement lean manufacturing principles in system design, including PFEP, WIP controls, and process flow optimization.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Operations, IT, MES, Product Management, and Safety teams to align designs with organizational standards and goals.

  • Participate in new product introduction through early involvement in concept development, DFMEA, and 3P workshops.

  • Support plant improvement efforts through Kaizen events, Gemba walks, and strategic initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

  • Prepare and maintain engineering standards and documentation to guide plant operations and support budgeted productivity goals.

  • Lead development of process tools including Takt analysis, precedence diagrams, operator standard work, training and visual aids.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.

  • Minimum of 4 years of industrial engineering experience with at least 2 years in manufacturing process design and improvement.

  • Proven track record of implementing cost-saving changes and space/utilization improvements without compromising product quality.

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English.

  • Strong command of industrial engineering tools to balance labor, materials, and information flows using Lean manufacturing methodologies.

  • Ability to apply statistical analysis, problem-solving, and planning techniques to optimize systems and reduce waste.

  • Demonstrated leadership in driving continuous improvement and cultural change within manufacturing environments.

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.

  • Expertise in CAD, spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software.

  • Creative mindset for developing efficient processes and solutions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes used in the production of window treatment products is preferred.
