Carex is partnering with a global manufacturing partner to find a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Mechanical/Software Engineer for a full-time, onsite role. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a passion for hands-on problem solving, system integration, and technical innovation across mechanical, electrical, aerospace, systems, or software engineering domains.
This is a 6mo contract role with potential for extension. This role is based onsite in Oshkosh, WI.
What You’ll Do

Design functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components.

Perform engineering analysis, system integration, and component development for new and existing vehicle platforms.

Support design, testing, validation, and documentation of mechanical and software systems.

Apply root-cause problem-solving methodologies in complex technical environments.

Conduct engineering calculations, create technical reports, and prepare supporting documentation.

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.

Utilize 3D CAD modeling tools for component and system-level designs.

Evaluate and enhance performance, safety, and reliability of vehicle systems.

Mentor junior engineers, designers, and technicians as needed.

Support production teams and field issues through engineering expertise.

Contribute to test lab setups, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and data acquisition activities.
What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems, or Software Engineering.

Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience.

Demonstrated hands-on engineering curiosity and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Experience with electro-mechanical systems and integration.

Proficiency in technical writing and documentation practices.

Familiarity with data acquisition tools and post-processing methods.

Strong working knowledge of root-cause analysis and testing environments.

Bonus: Experience with 3D CAD tools, video signal systems, and military combat systems.
