Carex is partnering with an early-stage healthtech partner to hire a Senior Software Engineer- HealthTech SaaS. This is a fully remote opportunity and seeking candidates based on the West Coast—with a strong preference for those located in the Los Angeles or San Francisco areas. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, this role blends hands-on development with technical leadership across a growing AI-powered Enterprise SaaS platform. What You’ll Do

Contribute to full-stack development, including web applications and data pipelines.

Identify and execute architectural improvements and the integration of external APIs, libraries, and frameworks.

Collaborate with Product Management to scope and define new features and platform solutions.

Serve as the technical point of contact for US-based support needs, complementing the offshore development team.

Support the VP of Engineering in shaping technology strategy and operational excellence.
What You’ll Bring

7+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in startup environments.

Strong proficiency in Python, Django, SQL, and React-based web application development.

Hands-on experience with AWS services in production environments.

Experience building AI-integrated applications, ideally with APIs such as Anthropic.

Familiarity with machine learning for data cleansing and matching.

Exposure to EDI healthcare claim formats (837/835 files) is a plus.

A growth mindset and demonstrated leadership potential; willingness to evolve into a people leadership role.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Comfort in a fast-paced, high-ownership startup setting with a drive for innovation and transparency.
Compensation
$150,000 – $175,000 base salary, plus competitive equity.
