Carex is partnering with a global food manufacturing industry partner to hire a Senior Systems Network Engineer to provide advanced technical leadership within an Infrastructure Service Delivery environment. This role focuses on the design, support, automation, and continuous improvement of a global enterprise network, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and alignment with business requirements. 

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a technology lead, providing deep technical expertise across all supported network and infrastructure domains

  • Design, support, automate, and continuously improve global network infrastructure

  • Collaborate with internal teams, contracted service providers, and business stakeholders to meet performance, security, and scalability goals

  • Provide 24×7 support and utilize proactive monitoring to ensure system availability aligned with business needs

  • Create and maintain system, process, and support documentation

  • Lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives using Agile tools and processes

  • Define, negotiate, and manage contracts, service level agreements, outage windows, and appropriation requests

  • Develop and communicate technology roadmaps, infrastructure standards, and process excellence initiatives

  • Evaluate, introduce, and implement new technologies, including cloud sourcing opportunities, that deliver business value

  • Manage consultants for major projects and operational support

  • Share technical updates with Global IT and business stakeholders

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to team members and partners

  • Ensure compliance with applicable Food Safety and Food Quality plans, customer requirements, and standard operating procedures

  • Establish, audit, and improve procedures, addressing incidents and corrective actions as needed

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, CIS, ISS, or a related business or technical field

  • 4+ years of proven experience implementing technology architectures and solutions to meet business requirements

  • Strong expertise in routing and switching, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, HSRP, EtherChannel, and VXLAN

  • Hands-on experience with SD-WAN and WAN technologies such as Cisco Viptela, MPLS, VPLS, QoS, and cloud interconnects (Azure, AWS)

  • Network security experience with Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer), ACLs, NAT, VPNs (IPsec, SSL), Cisco ISE, and 802.1X

  • Wireless networking experience with Cisco WLCs, Meraki, and 802.11 standards

  • Network automation experience using Python, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting experience with tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco ThousandEyes, and NetFlow

  • Experience with data center technologies and load balancing, including Cisco Nexus and Citrix NetScaler/ADC

  • Ability to provide leadership, mentorship, and clear technical communication

  • Valid driver’s license, required insurance, and acceptable driving record for minimal travel needs

  • Authorization to work in the country where the role is based
